Paal Olstad has a detailed page about level editing at http://home.online.no/~p-olstad/wolfenstein/design.html .
There's also a helpful hint file available called WolfTips .

Well, I am just going to list a few basic things Smile
-Make sure the level can be beat on the hardest difficulty level, starting the level with only a pistol and 8 rounds.
-Make sure the floor code in one particular room is the same, including a room divided up by static objects.
    -Read... I think it's Warren Buffet's wolf3d level making guide. It's great.
