    [ECWolf] Astrostein (Spifferaneous Edition) ASTROSTEIN_zpslvi5vpt9

After doing the quickfix for the Mac version, I just had to convert this over as well, lol.  I promise I'm getting back on Noahpak after this.

This is a quick conversion of Spifferaneous' version of Astrostein for the PC
version of Wolfenstein 3D.  This version was originally made because there was
no Astrostein mod for the PC version, save Bruce Ryder's 3 level demo.  For
some reason (prob the WolfAddict drama back in the day), it was never completed.
So, Spiff took it upon himself to make his own version of Astrostein, with different
enemies and levels.  There are 6 new episodes.  More info can be checked out in the
    "SpifRead.txt" and "SpifInfo.txt" files within the pk3.

I also took the liberty of including Bruce Ryder's 3-level demo as a bonus
    episode.

    CHANGES FROM ORIGINAL

Deleted doubles of graphics, using DECORATE to replicate Giftmacher and Officer
Added extra "disintegrate" sound effect during death
new HUD graphics and title screen and such!  This wasn't possible when this was originally released!
Extra music from Spear of Destiny
a few new sounds, imported from Mac version
    Beef

[ECWolf] Astrostein (Spifferaneous Edition) Empty How many levels?

Post by stathmk Sat Mar 04, 2017 12:30 pm

Astrocreep, can you please tell me how many levels are in Astrostein Spifferaneous Edition so that I can include it in a spreadsheet for Barry for Wolfenvault.com?

Why don't you read the spreadsheet I sent to you and Barry?! It clearly states Spifferaneous' Astrostein has 30 levels listed, but actually has 48 playable levels. Have you got my spreadsheet with you at all? Clarity please. You keep asking questions that can be answered just by looking in that spreadsheet.

You are correct.  You are correct.  You are correct.  I had forgotten to check the spreadsheet.  The thing is that Spifferaneous' Astrostein can't show up in an editor.

EDIT:  You are talking about your January 28, 2017 post at http://diehardwolfers.areyep.com/viewtopic.php?p=101527 .  Spifferaneous' Astrostein is a mod announced here from 2015.  I thought that you said that you kept track until March 2016.  Good point.

EDIT 2: -What do you mean that "All This And Wolf 3D" has a 71st level?
-I noticed that you have Sensenmann By Max from Germany listed.  I also noticed that you have mods by Gary Acord.  Gary Acord died.  I need to eventually discuss on Diehard Wolfers what to do to edit the ceilings & floors of these mods.  They load slowly because of the textured ceilings & floors.  I don't know anything about Max.  But Gary was my email friend & I think it's what Gary would want.
-My first spreadsheet to Barry included everything from Wolfenstein Goodies, a little bit more, plus links.  This second spreadsheet wll be shorter.
-The only other file that I can't find on your spreadsheet within the first 5 minutes is Wolfenstein 3D: High Resolution Texture Packs: https://wolf3d.darkbb.com/t1928-wolf-3d-high-resolution-texture-packs-page-updated and http://diehardwolfers.areyep.com/viewtopic.php?t=7765 I'm looking at all of the mapsets & Spear of Destiny episode 1 is the only one I've tried that doesn't load in high resolution.

Spifferaneous' Astrostein is a very old mod. Don't know if the ECWolf port which this topic is about has anything to do with it. But the original set has 48 playable levels, yet only 30 listed in its original Dome description.

All This & Wolf 3D's level 71 is listed as "level 0". You'll get here when exiting level 70.

Mäx was around mainly in 2004. He did appear later on with unfinished stuff like Northern Darkness that was pretty cool. Gary Acord's sets are very confusingly put together but I tested all downloadable DOS EXE's and they still work. Don't know how much of the work he did himself. Most are old DOS EXE's using already-released mods or map sets put together with a random set of graphics. Did he ask permission to do any of this at all? I remember one of the set used one of my mods, Nazi Operation, as its map set base, only found this out when I prepared this spreadsheet in 2015-16. If Acord's mods should be a part of the new mod listings I suggest we map out which mods are used exactly and ask the authors for permission.

I don't have and have never heard of the High Resolution Texture thing but it should go on the list.

[ECWolf] Astrostein (Spifferaneous Edition) Empty Astrostein Spifferaneous Edition

Post by stathmk Wed Mar 08, 2017 11:44 am

Nobody told me that he used your Nazi Operation as a base.  Which of Gary Acord’s level sets was it in Strange Worlds 3?  It’s 4 x 60 levels or 24 x 10 levels.  Tell me which level set it was, & I’ll forget to debug the ceilings & floors that slow it down, & I’ll forget to send those 10 or 60 levels to Barry.

Back onto the Astrostein Spifferaneous Edition topic.  I’m not going to complete every level of every mod, but I will see if some of the mods that require source ports will load.  What do you mean that this Astrostein has 30 levels listed, but actually has 48 playable levels?
