Not technically made by ID anymore, but for those that played it, what are your thoughts on this game? The reviewers at Gamespot and such didn't quite like it, but games are a matter of opinion so...

Some Info
Read the September 9, 2010 news at http://planetromero.com/ .
Duke Nukem Forever has been discussed on The Wolf 3D Haven in this thread: https://wolf3d.darkbb.com/t1708-the-duke-nukem-forever-list
Duke Nukem Forever uses the Unreal 2 or 2.5 engine. I like Unreal games, but I won't be buying it for a while. You get to drive a vehicle around in part of the game. If you like Playboy, then to my understanding there are topless strippers in the game.

Re: Duke Nukem Forever?
Why would it use Unreal 2 or 2.5 when Unreal 3 is out and discussion of Unrael 3.9 is brimming?

Unreal Games
You need to have higher specifications on your computer for Unreal Tournament 3 to work or to program in it. Just look at The Unreal Development kit specifications at http://www.udk.com/download and Vista and Windows 7 are recommended. I'm not quite sure what you mean by Unreal 3.9 instead of 4. I read on forums that Unreal Tournament 4 won't be ready until the next generation of computers and game consoles.Dark_wizzie wrote:Why would it use Unreal 2 or 2.5 when Unreal 3 is out and discussion of Unrael 3.9 is brimming?
Apparently Unreal Tournament 2003 was upgraded to Unreal Tournament 2004. I don't have Unreal Tournament 2003.
I majored in Computer Graphics Technology and there were teams at my college that made mods in Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal Tournament 3. It takes a half year course to make a set of levels in Unreal Tournament 2004 or 3. Learn everything that you can about computers in high school because computer majors are very demanding. Computer Graphics Technology sets the standards very high and it's hard to find work.
Schabbs and I saw an article that there's going to be a new Rise of The Triad and I mean besides the one in Doom 2. I wish that somebody would pick up where they left off and finish it in the Unreal engine like Gearbox did with Duke Nukem Forever.

Re: Duke Nukem Forever?
Oh, I thought they named Unreal 4 to 3.9... But Unreal 2 is still below par. People used Ureal 3 like 5 years ago. Speaking of which, Crysis with DX 11 oatch review is out now... talk about demanding.

Re: Duke Nukem Forever?
My class at Keiser University is using the Unreal engine, along with Blender and 3dmax! Duke Nukem while entertaining has no lasting value for me. When it becomes a budget release I will buy it. Unreal is an impressive engine. Anyone here familiar with Torque 3d? The famous Tribes engine.

Re: Duke Nukem Forever?
Hi. I’ve never programmed with The Torque Engine, but I have played Marble Blast Gold. My schoolmates at Purdue made Leon Gets Medieval in The Torque Engine. Leon is rather entertaining and you should play the free game at http://www.wolfensteingoodies.com/doommodsandclones/leon.htm .Tragos2d wrote:My class at Keiser University is using the Unreal engine, along with Blender and 3dmax! Tragos2d, sometime I’d like to chat with you on the Wolf3D Haven about using The Unreal Engine because I’d like to do some things with it. I’m not familiar with Keiser University, but sometime you should upload your class' Unreal Engine game to planetunreal.com or fileplanet.com, and then tell me the link so that I can play it.

Re: Tribes
I'm almost 31 years old and I kind-of think that you're younger than me. I looked up The Tribes games on Wikipedia. Is it more popular with guys younger than me? I've only heard of Tribes. There's a very long list of Unreal Engine games: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unreal_Engine_gamesTragos2d wrote:You seriously never played any of the Tribes games?
