Was checking out other wolf3d sites last night when I stumbled across the Diehard Wolf Bunker site. There was a topic under source code called TAKE NOTE. I realize giving credit to others is proper and the right thing to do if you borrow anything for your mod. Obviously giving credit to id Software is a must! But, after reading what happened to Nate Smith and the mod he made, I am a little confused. The last thing I want is id Software upset at me. Could someone clarify what is acceptable nowadays. I realize that's a few years old now. For instance, I am incorporating Resident Evil into my wolf3d mod. Now I am worried. Check out my title screen on my website. I thought it was fine, but not sure now! www.jayngoware.com

On my site I gave id Software and Capcom full credit for their work. Just don't wanna tick anybody off. I was planning on making a thank you screen for my mod when it is done. I will list everyone there that helped me, including id and capcom. Is that enough?? Thanks as always.

It was released at the time when RTCW was an upcoming top game. Nate's mods had a huge number of downloads. Nowadays wolf mods are even more unattractive to (newer) pc gamers. I guess it's ok if you use some stuff with appropriate credits. Of course it's better if you modify it or replace it with new stuff. I have no clue about Capcom's rules. Maybe using Resident Evil Zero as a name could be a problem though I have no clue about their copyright stuff. Maybe the new Wolfenstein game will also cause some trouble...

Thanks again Nexion. I really hope that doesn't happen again with the new release of Wolfenstein lurking in the not too distant future. I'll just make sure I give the appropriate credits to everybody.
