(Perhaps this could fit in the Other Websites section, but I'm not so sure about it. As thus, dropping it on here, it can be moved if desired.)
While I enjoy Wolf3D and enjoy participating in the community, I'll make it no secret Doom is still easily my favorite. And for that reason, this month has been depressing.
I don't think many on here (if anyone) will already know what's wrong, so might as well just stick it out. The level archives for Doom on www.gamers.org/pub/idgames/ haven't been updated the entire month - normally they are updated every few days, at least. I've tried contacting the archive maintainer (Ty Halderman) 3 times. No responses. There is a thread on the main Doom site forum (Doomworld) talking about it but everything there is speculation, no signs of any answers. And there was no notice - at all - that this was about to happen. It's getting more depressing by the day, and I hope Ty comes back soon. But I thought I could still go to the off-topic section to vent a bit, maybe by a miracle someone else will have insight. Or just conversate, if nothing else.
If this really is the end game of a 20-year archiving operation, I wonder just who and what will continue the legacy. There's still ample members in the community to pump out new stuff.
