Cool!
Cool! I wonder if you're the kind of person that would cross-stitch a black race car with orange flames or a flaming Halloween skull!
I had a subscription to Nintendo Power and an issue came with a Donkey Kong Country iron-on patch. I hope I didn't lose it. Somebody else mailed in a photo of their Tetris quilt to Nintendo Power.
One of my former teachers is on Facebook and she's a quilter. Apparently to keep the subject of quilting from boring people out of their minds, she joined a revolutionist-sounding or leftist-sounding Facebook group with some sort of name like Quilter's Liberation Front or Anarchist Quilters!? I am not making this up.
It reminds me of The Wolfenstein 3D & DOOM picture text map on episode 3 level 10 on a Wolfenstein 3D Super Upgrades mod. The Super Upgrades were made in 1994 and are now freeware from 3drealms.com.
I was watching the American edition of Antiques Roadshow. An oriental rug from Afghanistan or Iran was being shown. The Soviets invaded Afghanistan with machine guns or Iran had a cultural revolution with machine guns. This oriental rug had blocky machine guns stitched into it. That's one thing that your patch reminds me of.

Re: wolf3d new undiscovered patch
Nice one! Here is a glass plate of Quake art I made in high school for an assignment. Its one of a kind. Being one of the few fans of Quake at my school, not everyone saw the significance of it. It used to have a metal chain for hanging up, but it broke. Now I just place it up against my window at home for the neighbours (and bus passengers) to see.

Re: wolf3d new undiscovered patch
Amazing stuff, both of you. Especially impressed with the Quake thing.
@Atina: Could the Wolfenstein 3-D title screen be ideal? It's probably an insane amount of work and would have to be the size of a doormat or so.

Mosaics
Something about The Doom cross-stitch mosaic reminds me of the Doom: The Roguelike mosaic. It’s an animated free game. I haven’t played it in about 5 years though.

http://doom.chaosforge.org/ (Updated March 19, 2013)
You made a Quake window in art class? I made a Super Mario Bros. 3 pointilism mosaic in 1994/1995 and a Pico picture in 1995 in art class. Pico is a green friendly alien with a race car in the future. He’s in the F-Zero instruction booklet for The Super Nintendo. They weren’t lame pictures. We also made paper CD-labels a little later for fictional games or fictional bands years before CD burners and CD labels. That time, my label was kind-of lame looking based on a Doom-like game. Yours are cool.
About the same year, I drew a deliciously evil-looking Shao Kahn on an 11 by 17 inch paper. He’s a 9-foot-tall emperor and narrator from Mortal Kombat 3. Did I mention that he’s apparently on steroids, unusually evil, and the top of his head looks like the grim reaper? I wonder what it would be like if a comedian impersonating Atina or linuxwolf just painted or cross-stitched deliciously evil things at age 90 in the nursing home!

Re: wolf3d new undiscovered patch
Made myself some earings, to make sure no other girl would have same as mine xd
Quake logo looks cool! Try to put a flood light behind it and aim it to sky like a batman signal xd. I'm a quake 3 player and already made small quake 1, 2, 3 patches. Maybe some other time will post them here.
About wolf 3D title screen I'm not sure yet how it could be made but i will consider it. But I have already prepared a sketch of BJ status bar head to make soon. Newest patch i wanna try to do will be Duke 3D title screen, haven't decided for the size yet.

Arcade Machine Patch
Atina, at The Retro Tech 100 Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1290836887670032/ , there’s a perler bead arcade machine patch on a shirt. It reminds me of your patches.
