For me, various concept album rock groups 60s is a surprise.. In the Russian Internet is no detailed information about the music 60s. But read and translate all English-language Internet is very difficult.
By the same - recently I used only one resource (details in private message.) Since it was important to keep save all of the material posted on this site. And only recently, I did everything I planned ..

The only decent thing the White Stripes ever did was the Meg White sex tape.

Then I guess you haven't properly listened to the White Stripes. White Blood Cells, Get Behind Me Satan and Icky Thump are all fucking great albums.

According to preliminary information, the group was one single
which came with a circulation of 1,000 copies
.
International Group .. The leader of the group from USA
to avoid conscription to Vietnam went to Sweden where he was going to the team.
This is probably the only surviving record

Why, what's wrong with Coldplay? They are my favorite band! One Republic = Second place. Otherwise, I often listen to songs not from a commercialized band. Some instrumentals, game soundtracks.Thomas wrote:Just as I was waking up from my slumber, you just had to post Coldpl... .... .... ....

I can still enjoy stuff like Yellow and In My Place but it's a lot of the same thing with Coldplay, very uninspired. Viva la Vida is one of the most overrated songs ever. There are worser bands out there, but also a shitload of artists that are better. I hope Coldplay functions as a gateway to better music for ya.

Why not just enable a "What are you listening to?" function integrated on our profiles, consolidated with WMP, Spotify, Winamp, YouTube etc. etc. Come on, Eric. Should only take about 2,000 hours to build and implement.

The single 'Oh Well' was not included on early versions of the Then Play On album but was later included on US versions once it became a hit.

I had 'Then Play On' on CD once. Have to say there were moments on the album I didn't care for, but I liked the opener, this song, and also Danny Kirwan's 'When You Say'. The thing about 'Oh Well' and many other Fleetwood Mac blues-era songs is, that they were all original. New lyrics, at least, and most melodies were (well, all blues songs remind of each other in the some way, but...) and that's very unique. Peter Green also had a great voice, probably the best white blues singer. A song like 'Stop Messin' Around' could easily have been written in the forties by Muddy Waters or Howlin' Wolf. And that takes something. The thing about blues is that there's a long way between the originals. Any young white man playing the blues today... That's just plain silly. "I Grew Up with MTV Blues", I mean, get a grip and do something else and just let things be things.Schabbs wrote:The single 'Oh Well' was not included on early versions of the Then Play On album but was later included on US versions once it became a hit.
Heavy rockers Judas Priest covered Mac's 'Green Manalishi', more upbeat, but still retaining the same solo and lyrics - they also covered Spooky Tooth's 'Better by You, Better Than Me' - it's always great when heavy artists cover rock/blues 1967-72 - it really gives it a kick and a lift and shows some good tribute.

I've not played the Then Play On album for a long time but from what I remember, I agree that the 3 tracks mentioned are the best ones on there.

That can apply to a lot of albums from 1969 and around that period. After Beatles' Pepper and Zappa's exploitation of pretty much anything that could be recorded, suddenly the World and his wife thinks that they should do the same. It's not always good. Too many noodly jams, in-jokes that remain in-jokes though coming out all over the globe... Not a good decision. The worst examples, though, are buried in the obscure progressive rock bands. Many debut albums there are just horrible, and could easily scare a person away from the otherwise interesting genre. I know I would be!Schabbs wrote:I've not played the Then Play On album for a long time

For the record, I've been listening to this (and its parent album) since yesterday afternoon (well, not constantly):
The guy from Van der Graaf Generator, one of the most progressive of all progressive rock bands, should be the antithesis of anything punk rock, but he's practically inventing it here (or expanding upon sparks already created)
