I have Word 2007. The new features are not worth a 500 dollar price for me. 2007 is a good balance.

I don't use Word at all anymore. Open Office and Notepad 2 for me these days. I used to have Word 97 but is was a pirate and I'd rather use free or shareware stuff from small(er) companies than Microshaft...

Word 2007 Help
I set up my new computer over Halloween weekend. On Sunday or Monday, I installed Microsoft Office 2007 from the DVD that my parents bought. Does anybody know where they've moved the help feature and spellcheck feature in Word 2007? This is a little annoying.

I use OpenOffice myself. It's portable and I like the ability to export PDFs
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!

I've been using 2007 for most of the year and it's clearly the best version that I've ever used.
The only annoying thing is that when saving documents they save as .docx which a lot of older versions of Word won't recognise. You have to keep saving everything as 'Word 97-2003' document so that it saves as a .doc instead, this way others can see it properly.

At work I use Lotus Notes and the programs that follow it - at home I use OpenOffice. So no Word for me!

I currently have 2007; however I've seen 2010 and like it much better.

Why? What does 2010 offer than 2007 doesn't?WolfForever wrote:I currently have 2007; however I've seen 2010 and like it much better.

It is much more stable IMO. OTOH it's Excel I think that has really improved its performance. So you might be right about Word.
