Not sure exactly what you mean on "how to compile music", but here is the tutorial found there which shows you how to change the music order around http://www.wolfenstein3d.co.uk/coding-music.htm

If you mean that you want to add "new" music to the wolf engine, then that's a whole other monster. Although, it really isn't that hard. If this is what you meant, let me know and I can write you up a tutorial or something. Just too lazy to do it now. Especially if that isn't what you meant... Cool

First of all, download IMF Creator. That converts Midi files into IMF files, the music file Wolf3d uses. I use ChaosEdit for my Wolf work. But when I add music, I also use FloEdit II. ChaosEdit shows under the Audio/Music tab, what song is what chunk number. I then use FloEdit to add my new song to the existing chunk number/song I want to get rid off. Highlight the chunk to change, ex: Chunk 261, then hit the button "Import Raw Binary Data". Then pick your IMF file name. If you don't want to copy over an existing song you need to hit the "Add new chunk" button. But, I don't know how that works. It involves adding the new song to the source code, probably at the end of the list in AUDIOWL6.H file. It's much easier to just copy over an existing Wolf3d song you don't want.

If you make any mistakes just re-copy a song over the one you don't want. Ugh. this may not be the best explanation for what you want, but it works. If you understand what I just wrote... Cool

Also, IMF Creator can be funny. Some songs you pick may not convert good. It may involve taking out an instrument/sound or two to get it right. Also, you want the song length to be around 1:30. Any longer and the file size may be too big...

I believe you could open the game up with FloEdit II, go to the Music tab and click "Export RAW BINARY DATA". Think that will work...

Just make sure if at all possible you ask the author for permission. Or, at the very least, give the author credit within your mod. Either in the game or in an included text file.

Also, another note on IMF Creator...I checked my song lengths and I do have one around 2:30 and one over 3:00. So, it just depends on what IMF Creator accepts or "likes"...
