Note about the nazi.wad file that you can download from Simbey’s page: The command "zdoom -file nazi.wad" will load the file, but it won't have any noticeable effect. You have to run maps that use the graphics. Simbey had originally intended to use it with maps built by the conversion program.

Other Technical Directions:
First go to this forum for free Doom or Doom 2 update patches:
https://wolf3d.darkbb.com/doom-modding-f6/doom-2-update-patches-backup-folders-and-manuals-t1152.htm
Copy a Doom 2 ver 1.9 backup folder and change the name to create:
C:\Program Files\Games\Doom2\ZDoom\Wolf3D_Demo Or
C:\Program Files\Games\Doom2\GZDoom\Wolf3D_Demo
It’s a true total conversion and somehow tricks the .wad file. You could even use Doom 1’s .wad, plutonia.wad, tnt.wad, Quake, Heretic, Hexen, or Strife.
Go to http://svn.drdteam.org/ and download the latest version of ZDoom or GZDoom. Download it to
C:\Program Files\Games\Doom2\ZDoom\ Or
C:\Program Files\Games\Doom2\GZDoom\.
From http://www.afadoomer.com/wolf3d/downloads.html you must install all The Spear of Destiny files in the same folder as the Wolfenstein 3D conversion files in \Wolf3D_Demo . The Spear of Destiny needs some resources from the Wolf3D six episodes conversion to work. Unzip all of the Wolf3D and Spear of Destiny files. Click on Wolf3D or Wolf3D SoD for the games in ZDoom. Click on Wolf3D gzdoom or Wolf3D SoD gzdoom for the games in GZDoom.
You get to see your saved games from both Wolf3D and Spear of Destiny listed together in the load games list because both conversions are in the same folder.
There’s only one other difference that I noticed between running the conversion files in ZDoom or GZDoom. If you want the secret passages to be actual pushwalls, then use GZDoom. If you want the secret passages to open like garage doors, then use ZDoom. When they open like garage doors, I have gotten all the secret passages in episode 2 level 8 because no pushwall has moved to block another.
There are some Easter egg changes. The famous Aardwolf sign has been replaced with a red ceiling light. Certain other things in episode 2 level 8 are replaced with objects from the Angel of Death level in Spear of Destiny.
If you are using Doom 2 instead of Heretic for example, then the codes from http://www.gamewinners.com/Cheats/index.php/Doom_2:_Hell_On_Earth_%28PC%29 apply slightly differently. You can still type in IDDQD for God mode. For instance, type in IDCLEV69 to go to episode 6, level 9. Type in IDCLEV60 to go to the episode 6 secret level. Type in IDCLEV79 to go to Spear of Destiny level 9. You can’t warp to the secret level of Spear of Destiny.
Save your game when you’re in the elevator to the secret level of The Spear of Destiny. That’s because when you complete this secret level, the game is over for some reason. I don’t know why this is so, since the game doesn’t end when you complete one of the secret levels in the six episodes. When you complete Spear of Destiny level 9, the game is also over.
While playing in ZDoom or GZDoom, I splattered a mutant’s purple blood on a door. The blood was still there when I reopened the door again. If you kill an enemy up close, it will obviously leave blood splatter on the walls. Sometimes if you go up close, you can slowly watch the blood slide down the wall.
There are about 94 people on The Wolf3D Haven forum. If you have a question about getting the Wolf3D to Doom conversions to work, then send a message to me first before emailing AFADoomer or Simbey. I want you to also indicate what version of Windows you are using if it doesn’t work. I have Windows XP for example.
Edit on March 11, 2009: Just ignore the nazi.wad file altogether and go straight to http://www.afadoomer.com/wolf3d/downloads.html to download.
