Re: Question About Wolf3d For Jaguar
Welcome to the forums. Sonim? Who or what is a sonim? Is it a non-English word? Would you like to also join diehardwolfers.areyep.com? If for some technical reason you can’t join, then send me a private message with the username and email address that you want to use. Then I will try to contact somebody there to whitelist you.Sonim wrote:Does it include the Noctural Missions?
The first Apogee 1992 Wolfenstein 3D had 3 episodes. Then at some point in 1992, they added the 3 additional episodes. I bought The Apogee Wolfenstein 3D in 1993 and then later on in the year, I bought Spear of Destiny and the now out-of-print 6 episodes hint book.
Now I will to try to answer your question. So today I went to atariage.com and I noticed that the review page at https://atariage.com/system_reviews.php?SystemID=JAGUAR&orderByValue=Ascending&orderBy=Name&recordsPerPage=100¤tPage=2 is unhelpful for answering your question. I clicked on The Jaguar section, and typed Noctural Missions into the blank. There were 2 hits. The first hit was at https://atariage.com/forums/topic/40962-make-a-better-wolfenstein-contest/?tab=comments#comment-491442 . Csonicgo typed, “what's next, the nocturnal missions? that would be fun, actually...”
I’m confused because I don’t know if Csonicgo is joking.
The other hit was https://atariage.com/forums/topic/247463-what-have-you-actually-played-tracker-for-2016-season-9/page/39/?tab=comments#comment-3635621 . Skippy B. Coyote posted:

Wolfenstein 3D: The Nocturnal Missions (played on Wolfenstein 3D for Game Boy Advance) - 124 minutes
…“
I suppose you could join atariage.com and ask there.
So, I don’t know about The Jaguar version. The Game Boy Advance version has the Nocturnal Missions. If we’re still talking about versions, I played The non-Japanese Super NES version in the 1990s. That version is called Wolfenstein 3D anyways, but it’s actually Wolfenstein 3D combined with enemies from The Spear of Destiny and the level layout seemed to be changed from the PC versions. I remember in this version that there’s the Ubermutant, the dogs are changed to rats, swastikas are removed, and I believe that the Angel of death and Pac-Man ghosts are taken out.
I have Windows 10. Do you have a Macintosh and/or know how to emulate the Macintosh version on Windows 10?
Remind me in 3 or 4 days to tell you the PC Wolfenstein 3D mod from Diehard Wolfers with 9 episodes. You might like that.

Re: Question About Wolf3d For Jaguar
Yes, Sonim is a non-English word that we use for funny purposes here where I live. It hasn't a meaning at all, but it became quite famous after being used by a Youtuber in a music ( if you are interested in hearing the song I could send you the link). I will take a look at diehardwolfers.areyep.com and atariage.com, thanks for the tips. I have also a Windows 10, is it possible to emulate a Macintosh? Also, I should have mentioned before, but I want to play the Jaguar version as it is the only one that is not censored and has the storyline screen with the president, which makes it an awesome Wolf3d port in my opinion, as the others ports only have the manual story. If this is not asking for too much, could you tell me the difference between the First Encounter, Second Encounter and Third Encounter? It seems the First Encounter is the first three levels of the Second Encounter, which in turn is a modified level pack with 30 levels of the DOS version. The Third Encounter looks like it is just the original Wolf3d DOS version ported to the Mac Family.

A Youtube video answers our question
I responded here: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/302277-jaguar-wolfenstein-3d-questions/ that:
...From https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fO3uYPh1nuY&t=45m35s , it appears that the ending has MechaHitler with his armor falling off, you shoot Hitler, you then win, there’s a Roosevelt briefing, a guard, an officer, an SS, a mutant, a guard dog, Hans Grosse, Dr. Schabbs, Trans Grosse, The Ubermutant, The Death Knight, MechaHitler, and Hitler. You are correct. Barnacle Wilhelm and The Angel of Death from The PC Spear of Destiny episode 1 make no appearance in the Jaguar version. The characters in The PC Spear of Destiny episodes 2 and 3 make no appearance in the Jaguar version. The bosses from The PC Noctural Missions make no appearance in the Jaguar version.
