Some Wolf3d website updates Empty Some Wolf3d website updates

Post by Schabbs Sun Jan 31, 2016 7:06 pm

I managed to get some updates done during the last few weeks or so. They are mainly on the older yellow page site as a lot of the Dome is too awkward for me to edit. Sad

    This is what I've done.

I've transferred the Demon folder to the belowe.com site. Demon will be closing soon and the folder contains the Wolf3d news for 1999 to about 2002. The links from the Dome should be ok as I managed to edit the newsindex.html file on there.

All the links on the yellow page site now work.

Some addons have been added to the yellow page site. They are mainly ones that were on sites that have closed down. 4 or 5 from Dr Von Loon
and a set of 10 mapsets all shareware that were on Mikes wolf3d page. The links for Paal's mods have been changed.

The site search links were no longer working. All the ones on the old yellow page sites now work and will also search the Dome site and the Demon folder.

That is it for now. There may be a few links that will need changing for mods that are stored in the Demon folder but I will try and check these later.

The yellow page site is at http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~brlowe/

Hi Matt. Thanks but I haven't really improved. Parkinson's is very hard to treat and although the hand problem has been reduced a bit with medication, I now have many side effects like loss of balance.  Mad

I think Tristan is going to sort out the Dome so I will try and sort out the old Mr Lowe's Wolf3d site.

As for Andy, a few weeks before he disappeared (about a year ago) he emailed me with questions concerning the future of the Dome. I emailed him back to say that I was unlikely to do the Dome again. I never heard from him again.  Neutral

Hello Michael John. I'm glad you like the Dome.  Smile

However, I'm not well enough to keep it updated but I think Tristan will be able to take it over.

I'm not on the team for thefront.nl & I don't know when that web page will start up.  When Tristan's ready, he'll deliver that news personally.

Be patient.  We live busy lives & posting about video games isn't a priority.

Officer-Michael John, please don't take it personally that you are asking far too many coding questions in threads for us to answer.

Oh, so you still need coding?  Maybe programming isn’t for you.

No, that’s not all that I meant.  You’re annoying because you don’t seem to want to think about coding for yourself & you seem to want others to do the coding dirty work for you.  Do you also get the idea that we don’t have time to answer all of your coding questions?  I don’t even want to answer all of your coding questions.  I don’t want to be obligated to.  I know that you’re only 18-years-old, but as you get older you’re going to wish that you didn’t play video games so much or post about video games so much.

If I'd coded myself clear faulty my mod. For me, coding is not my forte (only partially).

    Hello Brian,
I hope you get better. So what is the future of Wolf3d Dome now?

Boy, some time has passed, hasn't it? I still remember when I used to work on Wolf3d Haven Mapset in the library, chatting with you in the chatbox. Man. Time just keeps going, going, going.
