I try to change the color and more closer to the player

but starts by degrading it to gray to black

degrades any color to black  Shocked  Question  Question

any idea how to fix this? (shading on 32-bit does not help me for what I'll do in my mod  Confusion )

I'm not sure how does the 32 bit shading does that, so I'll answer you based on the regular one.

Are you sure you actually changed the color and not the strength of the shading?

    For example, in

{   0,   0,   0, LSHADE_NORMAL }, which is the normal shading, "LSHADE_NORMAL" is the strength, and changing it to "LSHADE_FOG" won't make it look brighter. The colors are the first three numbers (Red, Green, Blue).

If you want it to look like a fog, you probably should try values of 200 or something near that.

It doesn't. Look at the images below, tell me if that is anything near what you want. For the first screen, I used the default constant LSHADE_NORMAL, which is 0, for the fog strength. For the second one, I used 20.
