Thanks.
Thanks. This is the first I've heard of this.

This new Wolfenstein game is suppose to be an alternate history where the Nazis have won the war set in the 1960s. I am going to say that this new wolfenstein game is set in another timeline. It is not part of the main series. We do know that in the previous Wolfenstein games, the Nazis lost. It seems like they somehow experimented with time once again and somehow rewrote history to win the war.

Well as long as the gameplay isn't Wolfenstein 2009 style and more RTCW like, then I don't care so much about the storyline.
As long as there are Nazi troops (not just machines) to kill and they have pistols and the chaingun back, then I'm happy.

Well yeah of course Wizzie. It takes place after WWII in a supposedly alternate universe as Josh said. If it's not taking place in the late '40s, then definitely in the '50s.

Chris Watters fights robots, stares down Nazis, and interviews the developers of the new Wolfenstein game.

Just as I said months ago. This BETTER be released on Steam. I believe you can get RTCW on Steam now. Jewel cases are becoming a thing of the past.

I'm surprised it's still the most popular out of the modern Wolf games.

There is an easter egg in the game which lets you play E1L1 of Wolf3d in the game, but it's very difficult to beat. You can still dual wield, sprint, and jump. I was going to make a video of it but idiot DXTORY screwed up the recording.

...I didn't find it that hard, it's particularly easy if you remember where the secrets are and find the assault rifle.

Playing on Uber, the guards shoot without playing the shooting animation. All a sudden half of your HP disappears from one guard.AlumiuN wrote:...I didn't find it that hard, it's particularly easy if you remember where the secrets are and find the assault rifle.

Yeah, they do that on Bring 'Em On too. But yeah, it would be tough on Uber.Dark_wizzie wrote:Playing on Uber, the guards shoot without playing the shooting animation. Finally beat the game. Deathshead was pretty difficult at stage 1 because you had to know where all the medits are to make the run without dying. Once the shields are down it's very easy to take him down, exploit AI, dump rockets and then dual shotguns, and then he's down.
I think in graphics department the game needs some help. Options menu for graphics lack enough options like manual AA tweaking. Audio should allow for music/sound effect volume adjust. I had a little bit of stuttering on my SSD which shouldn't happen, had 3 crashes in which I had to restart the computer (always around cutscenes).
Not enjoyment-breaking but definitely not perfect.
I would've like to see a closer confrontation between Engel and BJ, as Engel kindda got blown up in a cutscene and randomly pops back as a zombie and never died somehow, after which she was saved by Deathshead, still alive and kicking by the end of the game. Bubi is a bit more demented that it seemed from the first half of the game... No idea how BJ survived Bubi though, it never explains. Deathshead is demented as expected, there was quite a bit of gore their involved with him.
I like the cutscenes showing how 14 years past as BJ lied in the chair in the mental asylum. Some AI needs fixing, it's very easy to exploit AI of enemies in some situations. The hangar with the two robots is one example, and Mecha-Deathshead is another, killing them, was embarrassingly trivial while the first half of the fight was challenging.
The moon base is pretty creative, that was cool, and I like how we got to go on the moon. The levels are pretty linear though, but still a pretty good linear. I find the default keybindings for slide while sprinting to be very weird and hard to press on the keyboard. Uber gave me some challenges but it's too easy IMO. Remember, uber difficult comes AFTER I am Death Incarnate.
The hardest enemy for me in the game is the heavy shotgunner. These guys can take many hits and a close quartered assault always fails on Uber because you die extremely quickly. However, a laser minigun finished them off very easily... if you can find one nearby, that is. Otherwise a well placed grenade will do the trick.
I've had more than once where I could see an enemy's arm or leg protruding out from cover and I can just shoot it until it dies. And some guards getting stuck and general AI weirdness. The AI of enemies with melee weapons is hilariously bad.
I think as a storytelling endeavor this achieves the goal much better than any Wolfenstein game so far, because let's face it, Wolf3d/Sod had no story and RTCW had some too... but no cutscenes, no real read-ables, nothing. Wolfenstein 2009 wasn't really up for the storytelling department.

Yea, I don't want to replay the entire game for like 3-5 minutes of game change, lol. I might've if I got the cheat enigma code working.

the "cheat" enigma doesn't even get you that far. It's not a cheat because the overcharge depletes back to its max health.
And you have no choice but to play it in UBER mode. The health of the aircraft gun, robot, etc. REALLY goes down in that mode so you have NO room for error.
BTW, progress on the perks and achievements are DISABLED as well.
Health upgrades are in the Fergus timeline and and armor upgrades are in Wyatt's.

Game has some tough spots but SHS was x10 harder.
