@Akuul: This may be for you - though Beach Boys were quite famous, this album (as well as the later albums "Friends" and "20/20") went past the charts quite quickly and are wonderfully psychedelic/roots rock/garage rock in their sound most of the time.

Nah, with a name like 'The Beach Boys' people sort of expect them to only play surf rock/fun-in-the-sun tunes. A bit sad, really. They also made some interesting forays into prog and country rock in the seventies. And of course, the peppy synth album 'Love You' which contains some short, hilarious songs.Akuul wrote:Thank you. This happens sometimes .. Especially if the "known name" or "known word" popular in the media. Who now remembers in detail the history of rock music? Collectors and some fans. Most people focused on the glossy cover. And fashion magazines prefer to tell one and the same. So it turns out that the experiments "Beach Boys" little-known. Or another example - skinheads. How many people know that this movement began in the late 60s? How many people know that the original skinheads avoided politics?
