Andy Nonymous has released 'Mac-enstein Third Encounter Episode One SDL'. This is the third part of the Mac-enstein Encounter series and needs to be run in the same folder as the first two parts. As with the First/Second Encounters, it's quite a good effort as it seems very close to the originals. Text file included. Since the earlier Encounter sets were released, Andy has made some improvements but these will be included when the new files are added. Available here. Just add the contents of Mac3sdl2.zip to your First/Second Encounter SDL 2 folder, overwriting whenever prompted. This upgrades the first two Encounters to version 2.02, in addition to installing Third Encounter Episode 1. For those that don't already have it, Mac-enstein First Encounter is available here. (15.9Mb) - Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

If I understand you correctly, the answer is Yes, if the files already exist, overwrite them.

The First Encounter has all the big meaty files, and is considered the "base" on which to build all subsequent versions.

Install Second Encounter next, replacing any files that are the same (say yes to all prompts).

Then do the same for Third Encounter. At that point, you are all updated with the newest, best versions of all files.

I originally didn't intend there to be that much overlap between releases, but I kept finding bugs and deficiencies which needed improvement. So there's always been a new EXE, and with the Third release, all new VGA files.

Wanted to ask still.. MacPlay distributed versions of Wolfenstein 3D:

1) First Encounter -- the first three levels of Second Encounter;
2) Second Encounter -- all 30 levels;
3) Third Encounter -- 60 more levels, in six 10-level episodes..
4) Commercial version -- all 90 levels of both Second and Third Encounters.

It means that you will do "Mac-enstein Third Encounter Episode two_three_four_five_six"?

I'd like to finish the Third Encounter, but it will be quite a while before I finish it.

Has copied three first Encounter's in one folder.. all levels didn't pass.. has looked at first two.
All was pleasant. Especially new music. The Sound became much better.

There was time (2001) I only on pictures saw Wolf-3d for Mac. And already 40 levels are. It is easier to wait the others.
