It is not rock, though. It is electronic music/techno made by one Bjørn Svin, a Danish experimental/hip hop-something producer. I've heard the name before, often associated with the leftist "Christiania" environment in central Copenhagen (which considers itself the centre of the country though it's practically in Sweden). But I don't know... "Flamingo" is a good word, but to use it in a music context seems difficult. Manfred Mann's song is a fantastic pop record, and maybe by using that word, other people didn't use it for the sake that they might be considered rip-offs for including the word in some sort or another.
FLAMENCO is something else though. Guitar virtuosity at its best (next after prog rock, of course).
