    ROTT News

Here's some good news for Rise Of The Triad fans. The ROTT: Editing And Modding Forum has been reactivated. However, BizHat tells me it needs one new post a month or it could be suspended again. It's at ROTT: Editing And Modding Forum.

Some other ROTT news is that WinROTTGL version 1.58 is out. It's available from Birger's WinROTT.

Thanks for the news. Just to be a little more specific (read: pedantic!) with regards to WinROTT. Release 1.58 is actually WinROTTGL (aka GLROTT). The non OGL release is numbered 2.24. Smile

Thanks for pointing that out. I've now updated the info.

I've been posting like billio over at the ROTT forums for days, asking questions, sharing info and pointing out old or dead links. I posted on the ZDoom forum in a ROTT TC thread letting people know of it's existence and I've just recently (after a lot of hassle!) joined the 3D Realms ROTT forum to share the news with them. Sadly, not a soul has replied to anything I've posted... Can't say I'm hopeful for it's future. Sad

    Thanks!

Gary Acord needs help with his mod. It’s Gloom and is a cross between Wolfenstein 3D and ROTT: http://rott.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?p=1139&mforum=rott#1139

I'll have a look at the Gloom thing tomorrow. It's getting late here and I'm only just in from a shift.

The Doom 2 pictures are something else! I haven't really seen anything like that before. It's strange to me because the HUD graphics seems to be fine. What does the standard Doom HUD look like? Is it okay as well or does it look like the game screen? Smile

Having just checked out Gloom, it looks as though it uses Castle Grom by Raziel as a base. The seamless levels feature (which has levels 19 and 20 as secret levels like in Spear) is coded in.

One solution is that the game ends on level 18. Level 19 can be a secret level accessed from a secret elevator on level 4 as exiting level 19 brings the player to level 5. I'll email Gary about it.

LATEST UPDATE on this is that Gary has now fixed the bug by having the game end on level 19. There are now 19 straight levels and no secret levels. This fixed version of Gloom is at http://www.mediafire.com/?w2qcccw22p8y0y9 .

Yeah, he sent me a message that he sent the updated Gloom to the Brazilian web site or company that I think that I mentioned. He's dividing the 60 levels into Gloom, Gloom 2, and Gloom 3. He's making new title screens.

ROTT News Empty Let's play multiplayer ROTT soon

Post by stathmk Tue Nov 02, 2010 7:25 pm

Let’s play multiplayer ROTT in December or January. Then maybe we could play again in the summer. Or if playing ROTT online doesn’t work then we could maybe play some of the other online games that I have listed:
