    First topic message reminder :

    Some of you propably remember when we anounced that we were going to do a remake of Spear of Destiny. The development has reached a point where I can say with confidence that this project is going to be released. We have exactly the same ammount of maps and bosses as the original, but we've added new normal enemy types and weapons to the mix to keep the mod interesting. Textures, weapons and sprites were all specifically crafted for this mod by us. We used the palette from Doom to introduce some cool colors that were not in the original Spear.

    Maps and graphics are all done, except for some fine tuning. Coding-wise it is mostly done, still need to build a new control setup menu to fit the new controls, also some minor things left to smooth out. I'm not estimating a releasedate, but it's done when it's done.

    Liking the new weapons sprites although that pistol looks bit square? The Mp40 looks like a tasteful ROTT edit. The HUD is very nice.

    Thanks. The MP40 is brand new though, I did all the weapons from scratch using MSPaint. I didn't even look at ROTT.

    As someone who likes to think of themselves as somewhat of a professional, I am hesitant to admit I like to start out much of my work using MSpaint. It’s so bare bones and easy to use I have never found another program to replace it! When I want a certain pixel or line drawn it’s still the quickest to use trusty old MSpaint. (Despite myself having several alternatives that are more capable at my disposal) The Mp40 in ROTT looked good by 90's standards but now its easy to notice the washed over blue hue to it. (left over from digitizing no doubt)

    I allready said I didn't use the ROTT MP40 so I don't care what it looks like but you're reference picture is from Call of Duty 2 and not ROTT. (no I didn't think you made it)

    I know you where very clear about that fact. I was actually complimenting how your mp40 looks better because it wasn't poorly digitized like in ROTT.

    a new version of Spear Reloaded has been released today with the following changes:

    - In windowed mode, window will always start centered (SDL)
    - Added mousewheel weapon selection (SDL)
    - Added option to enable/disable Mouse Y-Axis movement (SDL)
    - Added direct strafe option (SDL)
    - Dropped bodies no longer keep blocking doors when lifted off the doorway. (SDL)
    - Fixed a buffer overflow in savegame filename. (SDL)
    - Added a new screen to "Personal records" (SDL)
    - On version change, it said that old savegames will not load, which wasn't true. (SDL)
    - Savegames from 1.0 and 1.1 can be loaded in 1.2 (SDL)
    - Personal records now also display percentages. (SDL)
    - "View Scores" renamed to "Scoreboards". (SDL)
    - Secret area notification is more visible. (SDL)
    - You can now start from select map and difficulty via "Personal Records". (SDL)
    - Hints are closed faster. (SDL)
    - Fixed a possible crash in the hint system. (SDL)
    - Changed the "Attention!" screen text. (SDL/DOS)
    - Proper scaling applied to moon sprite. (SDL)

    Sorry guys, looks like I screwed up again. Since I usually playtest the game using --windowed parameter this one completely slipped me. It may seem as if the game is frozen when you play, when in fact it only does not refresh the screen when you play on fullscreen (Thanks Chris). Please, go download it once more to be rid of this bug.
