    Here is a preview of something I've been working on. Not much to say other than it's an ongoing experiment pushing what Birgers WinRottGL port is capable of. The tentative name is Aliens : Rott with the goal being to emulate an Aliens Online type experience. I have the resources to the original game but its more fun creating original textures. No real mods exist for Rott, hopefully this will stir up interest! The Queen sprite is only a place holder ATM.

    Unfortunately no idea when it will be finished. Visually speaking it's very easy to overhaul ROTT but the source code to WinRottGL is quite large. I'm still sifting through it and making notes on things that need to be modified. This is only a small side project of mine. Once Birger releases the next version of his port I plan to add slopes and multiple ceiling textures into the engine via 3d models. With school keeping me busy I'm lucky if this project gets one update a month. Every Alien except for the Facehugger is missing rotation sprites. That's fine because I want to redo them all anyway...

    This is a one man effort so the best I can do is be optimistic. The biggest obstacle to overcome at the moment is the hard coded limitations of both the engine and the editing tools. For example I can only replace or change existing objects, textures, sound, etc. No ROTT map editor will let me go beyond the max walls or objects in Rott.

    Would some gameplay footage bring ROTT modders out of hibernation? With the new ROTT game coming out I expect interest in the original game to surge a bit.
