Re: Episode 1 Speed Run Package
The Speed Run package has now been posted...
Episode 1 Speed Run Package | |
Matt Stath has put together a Speed Run package for the first episode of Wolfenstein3D. The package includes 9 saved game files, a high scores table (CONFIG.WL1), a scan, a time chart of records, maps, links, and info. Available here. This package works with the shareware version of Wolf3D v1.1 which is available here. |

NewWolf
NewWolf won't work on my computer for some reason. Can somebody please post about how to get NewWolf working? I believe that if you use NewWolf or a different engine or conversion then you can beat the record by following the directions.

Re: Episode 1 Speed Run Package
You just have to unpack the newwolf.exe to your wolf3d folder. Depending on the
newwolf version some wolf versions aren't supported. Maybe your video card doesn't support OpenGl?

Re: NewWolf
I first tried NewWolf in shareware version 1.1 and it didn't work. Then I tried it in shareware version 1.4 and registered version 1.4G and it worked both times. However, the menu screens have some problems, and there seem to be some glitches. The screen that tells me my times and percentages didn't work.
I don't care what version, engine, or ports you use to break or tie the record as long as you indicate what version, engine, or port. I sort of explain in the package why I think it's possible that somebody will break the record in NewWolf.

New record for level 6!
Yay! I've broken my own record. I had beaten level 6 of "Can I play, Daddy?" in 51 seconds for my previous record. Somebody indicated on a message board on Youtube that there's a way to get the guard to open the door without a key on level 4. I tried it on level 4 and it didn't work for me. So I tried it on level 6 in "Bring 'em on!" by shooting the first soldier in the hallway containing the locked door. Then I ran out into the previous hallway to shoot some Germans and ran back. The second soldier of the hallway was now behind the locked door. So now I've completed the level in 31 seconds instead of 51!
