Hi, folks, I'm Peter from Toronto, Canada. I do annotated versions of selected Wolfenstein and Spear of Destiny mods. My current project is The Final Fight. I've completed the first two episodes, and about 2½ floors on episode 3.

For those of you unfamiliar with my annotated games, I save the floors at the exit elevator when I have 100% kill and treasure scores, and 100% of the secrets whenever possible. I also save the locations of keys, when bosses will be encountered, and sundry other situations which may or may not be noteworthy. I also provide strategy notes on how to succeed in certain scenarios encountered on each floor. I always play in "I am death incarnate" mode. Brian Lowe has been kind enough to make these annotated files available on the Wolfenstein 3D dome.

My past annotated games include Totengraeber II, Project Eisenritter, Operation Heimzahlung, Secret Missions 4, SOD - A Touch of Nazi, and Spear: Resurrection. Kill Hitler by Kyle and Coming of the Storm are also available in partially annotated versions, mostly just some of the floors saved, with less detailed notes. I think I did another of Kyle's games once, but I can't remember which. I think it was about six floors, and there was some sort of robot boss at the end. If that sounds familiar, let me know, and I'll try to dig it up.

At some point, I hope to do a fully annotated version of Coming of the Storm. The first eight or nine floors are done, but I became diverted by other interests and responsibilities.

When I make the annotated versions, I play as "Henry Irons", a former black ops collegue of BJ. Henry's weapon of choice is his knife, "Molly", and he only uses a firearm when it's absolutely necessary. This style allows me to leave behind most of the ammo and health supplements when I complete a floor. I have to pick up the BJ life bubbles for my treasure bonus, otherwise I'd leave those behind, too.

I've played Wolfenstein games on and off since 1992, I just haven't posted in any forums before the last couple of days. If you're interested in my current project, or any of my past annotated games, look for them on the Dome. I also share them on Emule, and they can be had by e-mail as well, You can get me at bobistheowl@teksavvy.com

If any of you are interested in computer fonts, I make those, too. You can find my downloads page at:
http://cg.scs.carleton.ca/~luc/bobistheowl.html My fonts are quite different than anyone else's. They use extra large graphics, and thus, have huge file sizes. The open very slowly in preview, using a ton of memory, but they work fine when installed. They are known to create problems with Windows Vista when Clearface is enabled. Other than that, they're really nice esoteric fonts to own, and some of them have practical uses, for some people. I hope it's not against the rules to shill my other work here.

Watch for episodes 3 and 4 of the annotated The Final Fight, coming soon. I have a lot of free time over the next couple of weeks, and I'll be using a fair bit of it for Wolfenstein 3D.

I won't be making any games, doomjedi. The only programming experience I have was in Assembler, Fortran, and Cobol from about 1983-84. I'll stick to playing other people's games. Annotations and suggestions will be my main contribution here. I would enjoy doing some testing of unreleased games, however. It might be interesting if a new mod came out, already fully annotated.

Well, about the fully made game with annotation with it, I'm trying to make one for my own add-on. (Trust me, you will need it.) I know all the secrets because I'm the creator Smile
My existing guide is already posted on the guides section. Oh, and I didn't welcome you on this thread? Wow, how weird.

Well, you don't have to know programming to make mods. I know programming but don't program anything for "my" mods.
    1. You can ask permission to use existing engines.
    2. You can use easy tutorials.
    3. Many mods here use existing wolf3d without need to change nothing. Or with some minor changes existing as exe versions.
    3. As usually more than 1 person work on a mod - you can choose your role Smile You can be graphic artist, sound or whatever Smile

I have to say it's very unusual for me to see a person that is willing to play mods of others without a spark of own creativity and vision to bring out the will to do modding yourself.
Are the mods exactly how you'd make them? Don't you have ideas you'd like to see as a wolf3d mod? Don't you want to bring something of yourself into a wolf3d mod? Story, graphics, mood, theme?

Welcome, I have copies of all the annotated release you did a couple of years ago, they are quite helpful and very, very detailed, nice to see you are doing some more. I look forward to seeing which other mods you do. A lot of the creators are still around and they may be able to give you further insite to some things as well.

doomjedi, I think you have to take a few things into account. First, I play Wolfenstein games a whole lot less often than anyone else on this board. I've played the original Wolf 3D many times, dating back to 1992, and original Spear of Destiny, with no sound, probably because of my audio capture card settings, but The Final Fight is the first game I've played in almost two years. I've probably only played three or four mods, in whole or in part, that I didn't annotatate. I'm spending about 3 hours on each floor, including determining the correct no ammo strategy for each scenario, finding all of the treasure, and as many secrets as I can, and writing the game notes. I enjoy Wolfenstein games, but there are quite a number of things I enjoy more. From time to time, I get the urge to play one, and if it catches my attention, I play it through, and annotate it as a go. If I just wanted to play shoot 'em up, like many do, I could probably play five times as many, but I find it's more fun when I play the entire game in stealth mode. I spend a lot of time making fonts, and that's where I exercise my creative urges. You guys do a better job making these that I would. I just give something different back.

well if you are running wolf3d mods without all of the sound you should try the program VDMsound(if you have windows 2000 or windows XP).

lilmanjs, I have sound on all of them except the Registered Spear. It's possible that I would hear the SOD sounds if I installed it on my Hewlett-Packard, but I haven't had the inclination to play that one again.
