I haven’t used Final Cut Pro in 8 years. I haven’t used Adobe Premiere or After Effects in 10 years. So I don’t remember if I had settings at 29.97 or 30 frames per second then.
I thought that I had heard that the reel format of the first cartoon with both Mickey and Donald was 24 frames per second. Tape formats have obviously changed. VHS tapes were at 29.97 frames per second.
I bought Roxio (A program to convert VHS to digital), Wondershare (A file format conversion program), and Fraps (A computer game recording program). I know that at least Fraps has a choice of 30 fps or 29.97 fps. Does this matter what I set it at?
EDIT: Now that I think about it, I had forgotten to mention something about recording computer games. You don't own the copyright to Wolfenstein 3D and The Spear of Destiny like ID Software or Formgen do. It's illegal to record a computer game that you don't own the intellectual property of, upload the video, and charge people to watch. It's a boring story of how I know this. I won't be charging people to watch my videos.
