There are tons and tons of Wolf4SDL mods you can play directly on any windows. Can give you links.
Also even DOS mods you can run with DosBox DOS emulator.

That would be cool, thanks! I had a quick look and found there are lots of TCs but right now it's full on nostalgia (just killed mechahitler for the first time in two decades...) so I'd like to start with vanilla style maps before the cool new stuff
