Greetings one and all from a long-time wolfer!
So nice to see such a talented and passionate group of people still working on a game I've enjoyed for so many years... I first played wolf3d in grade 6 when my friend gave me a copy of the shareware episode on floppy disk. (Hey if you press MIL it gives you all the guns and keys!)
I remember back then thinking how cool it would be to make your own levels for the game, I used to draw out maps on graph paper in hopes of one day finding an editor that would let me make my own dungeons to run around in. Fast forward to that day at my cousin's in '94 or so when we found MAPEDIT and opened the .exe to see that overhead view of E1M1 for the first time.
Over the years I've made maps for Wolf3d and SoD, as well as other games like Doom, Heretic, Duke3d and Quake 2, but regretfully never released anything to the public and my old maps are lost to the mists of time... I still make maps though, I'm currently working on a map series for Duke, and I've also again recently picked up my interest in mapping for the Wolf3d generation of games. At the moment I'm putting finishing touches on the last level of a 6 map Spear of Destiny demo to introduce myself to the community Levels 1 through 4 and the secret level are complete, I only have to finish the last part of the boss map before it is ready for release.
I plan to continue on and make a full campaign, but I am eager to see the opinions of the veterans I see here!
Is there anyone I can email the file to when it's finished, so that the community can give it a go? I suppose the filesize would be small enough for an attachment, anyway.
Just wanted to say hi and seeyou soon, keep on wolfin'! (nice smilies here btw lol)
