I am planning on archiving all of the mods on the wolfenstein 3d dome and the ID Software and 3D Realms manuals and shareware games and uploading them to archive.org. I am done using mediafire. So far I have archived the Wolfenstein 3D Chat from the Rotunda and Wolfenstein 3D Endgame.

All of the stuff will be uploaded to https://archive.org/details/jpb1991. I decided to use this again. I am only going to be uploading to this page from now on. Wolfenstein 3D Endgame and the Wolfenstein 3D Chat from the Rotunda are still on archive.org as separate pages.

The page at https://archive.org/details/jpb1991 has been updated with previous stuff that I had stored on mediafire.

I'm using an archive program. For some reason, it stops archiving at about 300 megabytes into the Wolfenstein 3D Dome. I might be doing something wrong. On JPB's archive.org page, DOME.zip is about 400 MBs and that's just the files up to 2012. I'm missing about 100 MBs and that's just the files up to 2012.
Somebody please send me a message here or on diehardwolfers.areyep.com if you know what is wrong.

A torrent program might be good for these files. That is what I use to download some files on archive.org. I have the 20th anniversary Wolfenstein 3D Dome pages and content archived with the exception of some screen shots from the dome news back then. I have two dome pages archived now up to June 2012. The 20th anniversary stuff has been archived under a file that says wolf3d 20th anniversary content.

Don't torrents require somebody to be seeding all the time?

Re: Archives
Yes. From previous experience, they also put spyware on your computer. I don't use torrent programs anymore. But I don't think that JPB's torrents have spyware.Dark_wizzie wrote:Don't torrents require somebody to be seeding all the time?
Anyways, Brian emailed me today that I have his permission. I'm trying different archiving programs with different settings. If I still have problems in 2 or 3 days, then I'll post here again.

If you're getting spyware from your torrents, you're either using a bad client or getting torrents from the wrong places.stathmk wrote:Yes. I've never received malware from torrents. Maybe once, but that was me being stupid like 6 years ago.

Since this is a zip file, it needs to be downloaded directly from archive.org. No archiving software is needed. The zip is a regular zip file with HTML files.
