I think the levels are well designed; any particular reason why it's not mentioned in the description as it normally is for a set with good levels?

The main aim nowadays is to get the sets posted. I just tend to copy the info from read me's or what is sent in emails. I've since played the first 3 levels and the standard is very high, just as in Ipank7000s other 2 sets.

I haven't yet played Ipank's Wolf3D so can't judge based on it.
Is the standard as good as 15 Master Levels, Level 15 of the DHW SOD, and Level 9 of the BMSE: AE?

The standard is at least very good in the wolf3d mapset too. As high as in the 15 Master Levels etc.

I'm actually asking is the standard so far (and how far are you?) in the SoD at least as good as 15ML, Level 15 DHW SOD, Level 9 BMSE AE?

Why not try it out for yourself? Part of the fun, for me anyway, in playing Wolf is to try something without knowing anything about it first. I downloaded Ipank's original map set not having heard of him or anything ... Got positively surprised. Many mods out of the blue appealed to me. You should just try this, and stop trying to compare it to whatever may have been released prior to this by the author. Either that, or just keep asking and wait for someone else than you to compare it to something... Different strokes, huh...

@Schabbs - Have you played Level 15 DHW SOD or Level 9 BMSE AE? I haven't played Level 15 DHW SOD but it's been highlighted as an excellent map by others. Level 9 BMSE AE, I have played and I really liked the idea of the deeply-hidden secret (Hard Secret IIRC, as Ipank called it) and it was just a really nice level overall.
Compare this so far to either of the ones you've played.

Yeah, you must run around in this level. If you just wait for enemies you will die.

I had to get some enemies at the elevator then run out right before Death Knight comes in. Just running out kills me every time because there's a SS guarding the exit.

Re: Ipank7000's SOD Mapset SDL Released
I think Sod sets are interesting, I always check to see what people did for level 16, 17, 18, 21. Because 16 is Ubermutant. Did the person do anything out of the ordinary for 16? I did the Mutant Master level on This Spear, tried to differentiate that from the rest of my set. 17 is Ramparts and that's always interesting. The original Sod had a different map structure and of course the wall taht blends in with the sky. I see that Ipank kept the tradition up. I remember ack did a fine level too with ramparts and I went that route with This Spear, but if I ever make a new Sod set I might stick with original/Ipank's approach this time around to mix it up.
I see Ipank stuck with something somewhat similar to 18. 21 formed a word in map editor. I found 21 to be more enjoyable than I first anticipated... maybe it's because of the ghosts getting in the way, so that the ghosts actually forced me to move around.
I think it's a decent set, but I have not played all levels yet.

Re: Ipank7000's SOD Mapset SDL Released
By "kept that tradition up" for level 17 I mean the concept of 17 compared to original Sod: You're on top level, with sky blending in with walls, and there are little wooden rooms spread about the level. I did that for SHS but maybe it's high time I try to do that again, this time with more planning.
