    Strife II SDL Released Strife00

Lakota Bucksnort has sent me Strife II for release. Spear based, it has 8 levels and some changed graphics and sounds. The SDL conversion is by Andy, as in the other sets. It's a pretty tough set. This may be Lakota's last gameset. Available here. Vista/Windows 7-compatible.

Well, she's 88 years old and has arthritis problems. Sometimes you're forced to "retire."

But she wrote: "This will quite probably be my last set...we'll see how that goes."

So it's not a definitive quitting! Very Happy

    It's a "she"?

There is 88-year old woman modding Wolf3D? Wow.

Yes, John Bucksnort's widow. Bobby is the grandson. I'll be converting his mods to SDL next.

John Bucksnort made many of the first addons I had ever played or even heard about, especially Gottspear and the Mutantstein series. The Bucksnort legacy of Wolfenstein 3D is one of those rare things that few (if any other) gaming hobbies have.

Yes, I also think it's very special that it's Wolfenstein 3-D's community that's been blessed with such a heritage. I don't know how they do it... I mean, my mother is in her early fifties and she still has no idea about computers other than browsing and starting/shutting down. Lakota is nearing 90! It's just ridiculous. Furthermore, she makes great, exciting maps and it's clearly showing that Bobby/Lakota/John leaned on each other when it came to mapping ideas (and sound/sprite selection too for that matter). Just fantastic. I'll give this set a go as soon as I can. Head-on action is a staple in Bucksnort's mods - even in the year 2013! Cool

Still hard to believe someone in their late 80s can be a real computer geek!
