For me it is college time since last summer, took English 1A (college level), got out with an A-. Right now I'm taking Math 1A (First part of Calculus AB), Microeconomics, and Mandarin 1. Math is a B+, which I desperately hope I can push to an A-... (there is a HUGE gpa difference between those two in my school), Microecon is a question mark, although I think I could possibly push it to a flat A, and MAND I think is also a contender for a flat A. I've never been the good student, and all of the intelligence in the world will go straight into the trash if no effort is put in. A real tragedy.
At first I wanted to follow my brother and be a Licensed Vocational Nurse, going through a 2 year private course with a certificate at the end. LVN probably gets 35-55k nowadays with all of the pay cuts. I eyed down Registered Nurse, which makes 60-100k. My aunt is a Nurse Practitioner, and makes 150k+ a year. But due to some unforseen problems, I jumped shipped and decied to go to an actual college. Right now my college has the best transfer rate out of all community colleges... but the damn GPA scale is a bitch here. I want to be an actuary, but the math required there will make an Asian weep. It makes Calculus BC look like cake. Accounting is not out of the question. Actuary pay can vary tons, from 60-150k depending on experience, accounting probably similar but slightly behind.
How is college life for you guys?
And if you're out of college, how do you like your job?
