Since Brian's unfortunate problems of late have led to the discontinuation of the Monthly Dome Awards, I thought it would be appropriate to make it a public choice!
The guidelines are exactly the same as they were when picked by Brian, which to my best judgement are as follows:
1) Awards are separated by month (so that would be a good post structure, labeling by month, and I've given the month of each mod up for consideration).
2) There does not have to be an award each month, and there can be up to three in any month, totally depending in what (if anything) you feel is award-worthy.
3) The award must go to a new release. It cannot contain all or mainly maps from something previously released, including no straight Dos-to-SDL converts.
Those are all the rules! A couple side notes:
1) If part of a project was released one month, then another part another month (and so on so forth if necessary), I'm listing the month of the most recent/complete release.
2) I listed everything I could find that is new, even if most have regarded it as low quality. Don't be afraid to be an outlier if that's your opinion!
Without further ado, here's what's up for consideration!:
January:
Spearfishwolfbones
Megaman Legends 3 Prototype SDL
February:
DHW SOD SDL mapset
15 Master Levels
Stealth
March:
Time to Kill
RTCW 3D
April:
Guns and Glory 0.5 The Story Retold
May:
Desperate Measures Episode 2
PD Wolf Demo
June:
Batman vs. Bane
House of Wolf Demo
July:
No qualifying releases found.
August:
Spear of Destiny: Final Resistance
SS
Thomas' Wolfenstein 3D
September:
No qualifying releases found.
October:
Hundenberg
November (through 11/21):
Operation Eisenfaust Origins
The Lost Relic (I'll let this slip by since the previous version was so buggy)
Base of Operations 1-level Demo
The Iron Dream
If you think I missed listing anything that meets all the requirement, feel free to let me know.
Personally, I have some catch up to do, but the one set I've actually played very deeply into is Guns and Glory 0.5 and I feel it is well deserving of an award (for April). Got to find time for some more playing!
Anyways - fire away!
EDIT: I forgot I also did play 15 Master Levels and Stealth; those lower profile things don't jump to me as fast. 15 Master Levels was good but not exceptional. I'm on edge as to whether I'd award it, it's really close to the margin IMO. Stealth, it's only 3 levels but I'd be tempted to toss an award its way for the original concept and excellent execution.
