I've been wanting to play The Lost Relic again, this time on hardest. However, on my computer it won't run. The starting screens are all discolored. I'm on Windows 7, I disabled all Aero, ran in Admin mode, incompatibility mode, 236 colors, nothing. Help pl0x!

Re: The Lost Relic
I think it must be run in --windowed mode. The only mod I recall ever needing that.

Re: The Lost Relic
Create a windows shortcut and put --windowed at the end of the command line (in properties). You may also want to increase the resolution from the default 640x400 to make the window bigger: add --res 960 600 or --res 1280 800. It has to be a multiple of 320x200 (or 320x240). These things can also be done in a .bat file. All of this is done exactly as when you would add --goobers or --debugmode for cheating.

Re: The Lost Relic
None-fullscreen, still getting bad discoloration and crash upon starting the first level. It also screws up the color of my entire desktop, not even like 16 bit, looks like 6 bit after a toddler spilled paint over it.
EDIT:
Checked off run in set resolution/256 colors. Color is good, but still crashes on level 1.

Re: The Lost Relic
Problem fixed by setting to windows 95 compatibility mode.
EDIT:
Game crashes after a door closes...

Re: The Lost Relic
I tried that. Without windowed mode, I get severe color palette problems. If I use windowed, it crashes on loading level 1 with --tedlevel 1.
With windowed + tedlevel, I get good color, but once again crash upon door closing.
EDIT: Somehow works now. Time to rough it up on hard difficulty. It's laggy any annoying to use though.

Good thing you asked them. I would have had no idea because of my new computer
