I like to keep it clean, free of clutter. I'm using my crappy 19 inch Insignia TV right now, and I'll upgrade for a 27 inch Catleap soon. My desktop is really a slideshow of 100 1440p wallpapers. I'm moving from 1440 x 900 to 2560 x 1440. YOUR TURN!

Yeah, I don't have a lot of crap on my desktop either. Never had, really. Don't really have much on my hard drive either, just 200 GB's of FLAC (my entire CD collection ripped).
Screen resolution is 1280 x 1024. Yes, I have a 4:3! Widescreen sucks for wolfing (though it's been a while)...

What's with all these clean desktops? Check out my mess:
My flatscreen monitor went on the fritz, so I reverted back to an old CRT - and Wolf3d plays much better!

Wow. That, indeed, is a mess!
If I had the space I would seriously go back to my old CRT. I only really play old games and none of them look better on the LCD/laptop...

Mp3tag is a great tool though. Never trust official databases... It sometimes happen they're flawed, wrong indexing etc. etc... And it works with FLAC files.
Regarding CRT... I totally understand you guys, and I agree it seems more real, but (I guess it's because I'm young and adjustable and all that jazz) personally I haven't a problem with Wolfing on a flat screen. Then again, I only use MapEdit and SDL mods.

So you're into the Amiga, eh? It's a great system. Brilliant games, graphics and sound. It was easily 10 years ahead of the PC in it's heyday... Good times.

If XP didn't have the option to hide the desktop I'd be screwed.
Seriously though I never have a problem finding anything. The command prompt is the only real way to use a computer.

Tragos2d, we’re woodworkers and woodcarvers. One of my friends has a sign hanging in his shop with, “A clean shop is a sign of a sick mind.” Does the same apply to desktops? Maybe you’re not crazy because your desktop is so cluttered.

That's exactly how I feel about it friend.
No real artist ever has a clean studio. Not if they plan on living off of what they make. Smile
Over the years I have become a bit of a file hoarder but it's my habit to archive anything I find interesting.

As you can see, I like to keep a clean desktop. Also I change the background once every two weeks or so, just to keep things interesting.

How do you guys fix your screen resolution? I use a 32" LG TV and everything is huge - it still won't go above 1360x768:
This is my work computer, by the way - I use it solely now as it's the only one I have that has never, ever crashed or gone blue screen. Ever. And I've used it since 2011.

Re: Post Your Desktop Here!
My resolution has been at max at 2560 x 1440 ever since I got this monitor. For gaming I user the higher resolution I can up to 1440p. For $300 this monitor is one of the best bang for the buck upgrades for my computer I've ever made. All these gamers spend money on a nice computer but then neglect the output device, lol. High resolution (not necessarily large screens) are what allow people who do lots of computer, work related tasks efficiently. So some people are adopting the 4k displays for that purpose.
Doesn't everybody run things at max res and then just leave it at that? I have a netbook I leave at max res (which is some oddball aspect ratio and very low).

I know, I'm saying that maybe it won't go above 1360x768 because that's the TV's (i.e. his monitor's) native resolutionDark_wizzie wrote:He says he's using a TV as a monitor for his computer.AlumiuN wrote:Are you sure that isn't your TV's resolution? Re: Post Your Desktop Here!
Isn't there a "mode" setting for TVs where it decides between TV and monitor modes? I discovered this with my Dad's flatscreen TV recently. His TV picture was going off the edges so that the sports event score graphics were partially obscured. I checked the TV's manual and it pointed me to the correct button to use on the remote.

I'll check when I get home. I haven't dug into deep controls on the TV... It receives no channels as the tuner does not work anymore. All the TV I get is via streaming.
