I find this to be weird and disturbing to a degree, but also pretty funny. That is probably the alcohol....
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,

and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!

I think it was also the alcohol that helped you choose that avatar. Sheeesh. Whenever I see that I need alcohol!

Re: Is Jpb actually Dr. Zin?
Oh don't tell me you're down on Sean Connery?! That is his role in the 1970's post-apocalyptic film Zardoz. It is a wiiiild film. I've been using that avatar for a while now though, on various forums. I had seen the film years ago and then I seen that while browsing through a collection of funny images and I just had to use it. LMAO I do admit I use it partially to get reactions like that. I've thought about dressing like that for Halloween, but then I figured that the last thing I need is to be arrested for indecent exposure.

I don't know what's more disturbing. The fact that you chose that avatar or the fact that that's indeed Sean Connery.

Re: Is Jpb actually Dr. Zin?
I've always went with that that is indeed Sean Connery. Zardoz came out in 1973 so it was quite a while after his James Bond films. I don't know the circumstances or whatever, at the time it may have been high-profile, I don't know; but it would seem to me that you would have to be in a serious rut in your career to agree to dress like that for a movie that will undoubtedly be seen by millions.
Anyway, Sean Connery is a (fairly) well know Scottish Actor. He's done everything from being 3rd place in the Mr. Olympia body building contest to being the first widely recognized actor to portray James Bond. You MAY recognize him as the hunter they found in Africa in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, though his character's name escapes me at the moment.

Alan Quartermain. And I have to say, I am MOST disappointed that Sean stooped that low in his career to wear something as outlandish as that. Very sad day indeed.

Believe it or not that was the costume that Connery wore throughout most of the film. The entire premise of the movie has some rather strong sexual over tones (it is certainly not a kids movie by any stretch of the imagination). I mean I really can't describe to you in detail what the movie was about without getting somewhat offensive. It's not a porn (at least not by today's standards anyway), but it was a mature-audience film in its day. That is just the costume he wore, I am guessing it was meant to emphasize Connery's "manliness". In his day he was the big manly macho guy. When film makers and casting directors needed the "strong, manly, silent type", they got Sean Connery, Steve McQueen, Marlon Brando, Clint Eastwood, Lee Marvin or Charles Bronson. Those men were just associated with that persona. And it being the 1970's, some really wild stuff made it on screen. I really can't explain it any better than that without going into detail about the movie so visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zardoz - MOST LIKELY NSFW/S

The scary thing is that I must be showing my age a little as when I saw the avatar I thought: "Oh look, there's Sean Connery from that Zardoz film...". God, I'm getting old! On the good side I got asked out by a 24 year old babe yesterday!
On topic: I've now voted. Though I'm saying what I picked.

Connery was Indiana Jones' Father
Sean Connery was Henry Jones Sr. in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. I remember also seeing Sean Connery in a commercial for the movie Dragonheart. I think that Dragonheart didn't get a lot of attention because it was a movie with a computer graphics rendered dragon after Jurassic Park's rendered dinosaurs.Dark_wizzie wrote:Whose Sean Connery?
I saw an episode of Late Night With Conan O'Brien (An American Comedian) with a claymation Christmas Special years ago. It was claymayion Conan, young Sean Connery, and another man who kill Saddam Hussein. Then they put Saddam Hussein's severed head at the top of the Christmas tree in place of the angel or star. I didn't say that Conan O'Brien is always for kids or always mature.

I had a schoolmate named Sean that said that his mother named him after Sean Connery.

Zardoz?
I haven't seen the Zardoz movie. Zardoz sounds like the name of somebody that might attack The Enterprise or Luke Skywalker.

I want to update http://www.wolfensteingoodies.com/wolfensteingoodies/sp/sp.htm about Wolfenstein 3D in standalone programs. I thought that you’d be interested in helping me with a Sean Connery Zardoz mod. It’s Rubystein 3D: http://www.rubyinside.com/rubystein-wolfenstein-3d-recreated-in-ruby-1751.html
All I know about Ruby is that I’ve heard it’s a coding language like Python. Can somebody please give me info to help me run Rubystein from http://www.rubyinside.com/rubystein-wolfenstein-3d-recreated-in-ruby-1751.html so that I can post help for other people to run it?
In the meantime, I will be trying to get Ruby working: http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/documentation/quickstart/
I saw a Youtube simulation of a Ruby 3D-game making program at http://www.libgosu.org/cgi-bin/mwf/topic_show.pl?tid=481 and I liked it.
