The Games Thread is something I made so I can post about what I think about games that have been released. It is more for me then for anyone, so, whatever (It might end up as a dead thread, anyways)
The Last Remnant
The Last Remnant is a game made by Square Enix, the same team that makes the Final Fantasy series. As such, the same awesome people went to work for the soundtrack of this game.
The combat system is pretty different. First, there are "unions". Unions are basically a group of soldiers, clumped up in a position together. Depending on how a union is attacked (or is attacking), a union can be deadlocked, raidlocked, flank, rear assaulted, or might assaulted. A deadlock situation means a union is set to attack another enemy union specifically. A deadlock happens when a union (or more unions) attack a union head on, so using only attack from afar will not get you into a deadlock. Breaking the deadlock means possibly getting raidlocked or flanked. A union flanking another does extra damage to the enemy union. If enough unions flank a union, the union will get rear assaulted. The union that rear assaults another union gets to do even more extra damage than flanking. And so forth. Might assault means that a union is hit for sucha bad postion (flanked and rear assaulted at the same time) that the union receives a giant damage penalty.
Also, each player union must have a leader. A leader is basically a normal hired soldier, but better in every way. There are limits to amount of leaders you are allowed to employ.
All this seems confusing, yea? Well, a little bit of this RPG game is about strategy. So I call this a strategy RPG game. This game has ineteresting characters, a fine storyline, and download content. You can create alot of different weapons with components, etc.
The Good:
Good soundtrack
New battle system.
Good story.
The Bad:
Some bugs on Xbox360 version
Other Notes:
Some battles are epic but hard to beat.
A little bit more about strategy than a normal RPG.

- After a while, you get strong, interesting bosses, with few opportunites to save. This makes the game kind of difficult to beat, but allows for some pretty epic boss fights.
- The PC version of the game is better than the Xbox360 version. New and revised content at available. Also, there are no graphical glitches in the PC version.
- Good game soundtrack.
- New combat system.
