What does SDL stand for? I assume I have use dosbox for wolfenstein3D then.

Arsenal, the port we have now for Wolf3d mod making is Wolf4SDL. It is compatible with Windows Vista and 7, and does not need DosBox to run. The older games, yes you need DosBox for them, but someday, all or most of them will be converted to SDL.

also, if I remember correctly, Codetech saying something a while back about the way some stuff was done in the original mod that it wouldn't be able to be ported.

To run old DOS mods I use VDMSound. It works well on Windows XP (and Vista, I think!)and has less overheads so the mods run better on lower specced machines. DOSBox is good but it's a little power hungry. VDMS basically emulates an old sound card rather than the whole machine. Here's a link if your interested:

Yes, VDMSound is the way to go on WinXP. Doesn't work on Windows 7.
