Error when trying to play SDL mods Empty Error when trying to play SDL mods

Post by Schabbs Sat Dec 18, 2010 9:51 pm

    I received the following email:

My computer don´t run the Wolfenstein 3D games that use SDL version. Appear a message "unable to init SDL: no available video device".
Do you know some way to solve it?

    Can anyone help with this?

Error when trying to play SDL mods Empty Re: Error when trying to play SDL mods

I get that intermittently, usually if I try to run it from a full-screen command prompt, but not always. I have no idea why it happens. And I've only seen it happen on my Win98 machine.

My suggestion is to keep trying to launch the game, and try different methods: double-click on the EXE from explorer, create a shortcut, start it from a windowed command prompt, etc.

    Hope this helps,

I have Windows 7, but I only get that message if I keep double clicking the EXE for the heck of it.

Hmm. I have never had that problem. Both my computers run XP.

Just remember, the Matrix is not perfect. Once SkyNet takes over then we will all die.
