What do you think of SHS?

So, what do you guys think of SHS? (Sod, Haven Style). Especially, I am curious as to what you guys think of the mapping. My favorite maps are level 1, 13, 14, 2 in that order. What are your favorite maps? Do you have any suggestions for my mapping, so I can (hopefully) mapping better?

The start is way too hard, especially on the highest difficulty.

I tried 10 times straight, died within seconds each time....and then gave up playing it.....don't know that I'll be bothered giving it another go in a hurry...

When I tried it on the highest difficulty mode I found the same problem. However, on the easiest difficulty mode I found it a lot easier. There is still one area that is quite challenging (around where you get the blue key), but by then you get a machine gun. I found enough ammo and health throughout the level.

I found playing on the easiest difficulty mode on this mod is like playing the highest difficulty on some other mods so it should still be challenging enough in easiest mode.

I love maps that start out that way, especially if it's just plain Wolf. However, if the environment, not the guards, are difficult (as in Wolfenstein Collection) I can't do anything but pass.

Hmm, I'd suggest playing on easiest difficulty. Level 1 is on of the most difficult levels in the game, anyways. Just my opinion, but I'm fine if the enviroment makes a level difficult. At least we can be rest assured that Super Haven Mapset II won't be as difficult.

That depends! I feel somewhat intrigued to make maps the way you've done 'em - you know, with a certain challenge and a wide use of different wall patches and graphics - rather than the same old quaint design that's been done a thousand times before.

SHS is a bit difficult. It was made to be more of a challenge mapset. If you cannot stand those, try easiest. I think especially level 18, people tend to think that it's way harder than it is. The AI for Death Knight and others (other than Ubermutant, maybe) is so thwt you can almost always strafe and shoot from a doorway, and repeat till' they are dead. All you need is enough ammo, as their attacks are super easy to dodge. There is a secret area to aid you in that. I feel that The Lost Relic also offered the same, if not a higher, level of difficulty. I played it on hardest mode, and I ended up in a lot of problems but I got through it. I even heard that the later levels include 1 hit ko target locking projectiles!
Just my two cents.

I agree that levels should be made difficult and I like the start, i just see it as completely stupid if you start a mod where at a certain difficulty no one can finish it. Why even bother to have that difficulty or place guards for it if you've made it impossible to play? It makes no sense to me...

Hmm, I beat the level, so I think it is possible. Although I'll take that into consideration next time.

Hmm, I feel an easier version of SHS hitting the streets soon.

Got a chance to play a little of it today and got my *** handed to me by pretty much everybody! God, I am rubbish at games!

For those seeking for a relaxed game, you can now play SHS, normal version, as opposed to the Hardcore version.

I feel VERY sorry and regrettable to have to do this, but I must call it so-so. The level design is good and all but there's just way too many Mutants (and Ubermutants) for my taste; it almost ruined it for me. This is even true to the normal version (not playing super-hard here or anything). And I lowered the skill to "Don't Hurt Me". But if you make another set and use far less mutants, I'd probably vote it "Excellent".

So I hope I don't go on your "hate-list" for casting this less than stellar opinion.

Haha, ok. To be honest, I must have been high, putting too many mutants. Well, continue one about the AWESOME level design please.
EDIT: But expect an even more awesome (is that even possible?) Sod mapset by me without so many mutants sometimes next year!
