    Video Games Gone Crazy!

This is data that I've collected over the years.

    Mario and/or High Scores

In Super Mario Bros in Super Mario All-Stars for The Super Nintendo, I’ve gotten 9,999,990 points! I also had 9,999,990 points for The Lost Levels and Super Mario Bros 3 on that same cartridge. Each took the better part of a day. I’ve gotten 7-7-7 on the slot machines in Super Mario Bros 2 twice on that same cartridge. I’ve also gotten 9,999,990 points in Super Mario Bros 3 for the NES. I can prove each of these except for the 7-7-7 on the slot machines because I have screenshots. I just have to look for the photographs. I’ve also gotten over 1 million points in Dark Castle for The Macintosh. It took the better part of a day and I have screenshots.

Easter eggs are hidden gems or meanings in video games. In Super Mario Bros 3, there’s a Japan map Easter egg on the map screen of world 3. The southeastern end of the map has islands that look like Japan. The palace is at Nintendo’s Japanese headquarters and the dot is over Tokyo. I have a picture from the internet of a Japan map and of the southeastern part of the world 3 map screen.

Mario is called Jumpman in Japan. He's named Mario in America probably to impress Mario, the warehouse owner of Nintendo of America.

The Mortal Kombat Series & MUGEN Are Crazy

The Mortal Kombat series is just about the strangest video game series ever. The Outworld gods, sorcerers, robots, mutants, and other characters have wars with The Earth Realm when the Outworld Realm and Earth Realm merge together. They are adults fighting, but if you don’t believe in killing your opponent, you get to do Friendships or Babalities instead of Fatalities. In a Babality, you get to use your god powers or sorcery to turn your defeated opponent turns into a baby with matching costume play, weapons, or behavior traits of the adult. It is the strangest and funniest thing I’ve ever seen in a video game. Here are Babalities in Mortal Kombat (Mortal Kombat 9 or Mortal Kombat 2011). Here are some of the Mortal Kombat Friendships.

Watch from about 26:00 to about 27:05. The first Mortal Kombat game had an ERMAC error. An ERMAC error is a C or C++ programming error macro. Midway Games received so many responses about ERMAC being a hidden character when he wasn’t, that he was added to Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and later games.

Do a search for MUGEN or M.U.G.E.N. on Youtube. MUGEN is the Japanese word for infinity. With MUGEN fighting games, you get to mix, match, add, or create character moves, levels, graphics, sounds, or characters. You could add characters from the different series of Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Mario, custom characters, and so on in English Wikipedia. Some of the games are over a gigabyte.

    Accessories such as Legos/Hardware/Consoles/Calculators/Pinball/Toys

Microsoft is working on something like the Kinect where the projector makes you in the game!

The Hyperkin Retron 5 is a 9-in-1 console! You can play 9 different types of cartridges!

I think that The Macintosh Performa from about 1995 was compatible with Macintosh and Windows 95 software.

The Hackintosh is a do-it-yourself computer where you get to play Macintosh software on a PC that supposedly costs less than a Macintosh. I don’t know very much about it.

At stoneagegamer.com and/or retrousb.com, you get to play game cartridges on a connector to your computer. You get to buy flash card compatible cartridges where you add all of the games for your NES, Super NES, and etc.

Button batteries in Super Nintendo games record save game states. These batteries are long past their life expectancy. There are kits sold on the internet with a battery and a screwdriver. It’s so that you can take a razor blade and replace the battery. It resets the save game state though.

A MAME arcade cabinet is where you get to play bootleg game copies from the internet on your do-it-yourself arcade machine. I wouldn’t know how to build it.

"Steampunk" is where you make art or computer mods of used computers or scrap. Some of them are very creative. Some of them are steampunk computer monitors with a typewriter as a keyboard. Do a search for
    "Steampunk typewriter"
    Or
    "Steampunk computer typewriter"
in a search engine for a monitor with a typewriter keyboard.

In the May 23, 2013 edition of the Ripley’s gocomics.com daily email, it said, "Pinball was banned in New York City from 1942 to 1976." It reminded me of something on The Bob and Tom Radio Show in Indiana. One of the men said that you have to be careful playing Pachinko in Korea because of The Korean mafia.

Pong (Based on Magnavox Oddyssey Tennis?) or Tetris may be the most plagiarized game. I think that "Game on" was the name of the show about video game history that I watched on the History Channel. They said that they are more than 70 Pong clone consoles!?

You’ve heard of Transformers toys, TV shows, movies, and video games? Well, here’s Transformers thumb drives apparently in Jaguar, Black Panther, and Siberian Tiger. On Ebay, there’s also a Soundwave MP3 player in an untransformed picture and standing up.

If I didn’t already like Lego, Transformers, and video games, then here’s all 3 in 1! There's Lego Wolf3D, Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Star Wars, and other Lego video or computer games.

The Game Genie, Game Shark, Pro Action Replay, and Code Breaker, Playstation Pelican Disk, Ultra Saves, and Game Killer saved games are enhancements where you enter a code or file to enhance your game!

There’s a computer modded to look like features from Doom 3.

Calculators have Easter eggs: Defender, Spongebob Squarepants, Tetris and add here if you see others.

    Sex Appeal in Games

Parodius is an arcade and Playstation parody of Gradius. Instead of fighting a spider in Gradius, you fight (Takosuke) Squidboy in one of the games when he’s shampooing his head in the shower at 2:00. In Sexy Parodius, the underweight Squidboy died when a random, attractive, naked woman in bed sat on him here. That was discombobulated, random, and I laughed at that. What would Freud say about that?

There are nudism patches in video games! Watch from 9:30-10:25 about the nudism volleyball game patch hoax. There’s apparently an independently made nudism patch filmed from 21:30 to 22:15 for Tomb Raider in the same video. Apparently the hoax was that she was nude in the original game instead of made by a third party. The Fileplanet.com email newsletters would have Valentine’s Day nudity patches of ladies in the video games with censor bars on. These are the before and after pictures of The "Eye Candy" nudism patch for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion where the blonde has censor bars on!

"Whacked!" is a crazy X-Box game where the 7 game show contestants represent the 7 deadly sins. There’s a flightless penguin representing envy. Toof is a cartoonish monster representing wrath. Brunette Lucy has clothes that explode and she has censor bars on! Here's Lucy’s Audition, Lucy with censor bars 1, & Lucy with censor bars 2.

There’s Undressed Tournament (Abbeyskins SunBunny patch) for Unreal Tournament! Woman run around undressed with guns.

I’ve heard of video game girlfriend simulators.

MMORPGs: Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games

In Everquest on Youtube and in other multiplayer games, men will marry an attractive female character just for the game not realizing she is an inherited character and really played by a man.

There are actual auctions for electronic pretend items obtained from online games somewhat like Everquest or World of Warcraft.

I once saw an article that a northern European boy or man’s online character robbed a pretend bank in electronic game with a name like Habo Hotel. He was apparently disrupting the game, or ruining its reputation, or ruining its sales. He may have had to do actual jail time. Is the northern European crime rate was so low that they punish people who commit pretend crime?

    Game World Records

I saw an article that Bioshock Infinite is a game with a perfect score of 10 out of 10 in every category. Somebody in the comments section said that he/she could swear that Super Mario 64 had 10 out of 10 in every category.

December 2012 was the final issue of Nintendo Power and I bought it. It has the list of the best games of all time made for Nintendo consoles. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for The Nintendo 64 was at the top. I’ve also that in The Guinness Book of World Records or The Guinness Book of World Records Gamer’s Edition that the same Zelda game was voted the best game of all time.

I’ve heard that Donkey Kong for The Atari 2600 was the best selling video game of all time, but my information on this might be outdated.

    Creepiness or Being Deliciously Evil

In the list of the creepiest things in non-horror video games, brains of children are put into robots so that they can time travel in Earthbound from 12:00 to 13:35. It has floors made of internal organs in The Cave of The Past where you fight Giygas. The Giygas boss from Earthbound looks like an unborn fetus here and here. A theory is that he/she/it is evil trying to birth itself. I still don’t know what’s going on here. You will find it disturbing or deliciously evil!

In Eternal Darkness at about 8:00 the game teases you that the game has crashed.

The 7th Guest filmed actors. But the actors looked ghostly and transparent because of some sort of blue-screen or green-screen problem. There were already ghosts in the story line, and they made the actors into ghosts as an afterthought. That’s according to a video game book that I checked out from the library called High Score. High Score starts out with ancient Egypt playing a board game and ancient India playing a chess game with different characters.

    Wolfenstein 3D

The PC version of Doom 2 has 2 Wolfenstein 3D secret levels. They are not in The German version of Doom 2 because of censorship. Wolfenstein 3D is banned in Germany because the violent games there need to have characters changed into zombies, aliens, robots, or as unhumanlike as possible.

For the Super Nintendo version of Wolfenstein 3D, I can’t remember whether you hold down A or B on the controller and then turn on the Super Nintendo for a specific code to work.

I was watching a video on Youtube that included nerds and Neil Degrasse Tyson. They said that ID Software got the idea for Wolfenstein 3D from the holodeck in Star Trek. Speaking of Neil Degrasse Tyson, he was voted the sexiest astrophysicist alive. He’s one of the few celebrities that I’d like to talk to.

I could post more about Wolfenstein 3D if you want.

Konami Code Easter Eggs and Dopefish Easter Eggs

There’s a list of games at konamicodesites.com and English Wikipedia that use the Konami code. Type in Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, at konamicodesites.com.

The Dopefish was originally in The Commander Keen computer games. Dopefish.com has a list of most of the games where it appears.

Rare Video Games Can Mean Big Money

The only known copy of The North American English translation of Final Fantasy II for The NES was on Ebay for $50,000. It was at a games convention in the 1990s and then later Nintendo decided that they should utilize Super NES technology and make it for the Super NES.

A used gold copy of Nintendo World Championship 1990 was probably the most expensive game cartridge sold in history. It sold for $18,000. You can get a reprogrammed cartridge sold at retrousb.com.

I have a copy of The Donkey Kong Country Competition cartridge from 1995 for The Super NES. You could only get it from a specific edition of a Nintendo Power catalog or from a Blockbuster catalog. It can sell for $700 now. Only 350 to 4,000 copies were made. Contact me if you’re interested in buying, we’ll chat about it, I’ll put it on Ebay, and I want at least $525, which is 3/4 of the $700. I'll include the Blockbuster collector's box.

Star Fox Super Weekend, which I don’t have a copy of, may sell for about the same price.

    Video Game Addiction

Jay Leno said, "A boy or man in South Korea died after playing a computer game for about 54 hours straight in an internet café. At least he didn’t waste his life." I wondered if he possibly had diabetes mismanagement, DVT in his legs, or stimulant drugs in his blood. DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) is a condition that I’ve heard about women on planes having when they sit down on the flight from Canada or the mainland United States to Hawaii. A blood clot develops after they sit still on their legs for several hours, get up, and it moves to their brain or lungs. An American news reporter in 2003 in a tank in Iraq died from DVT.

A college acquaintance and I told Jay Leno’s South Korea video game death story to a Korean-American who had always spoke perfect English. The Korean-American said that there was a boy playing an online game in Korea until everybody stopped played the game online, he was the last member of a tribe, committed suicide by jumping off a balcony, and the mother found him in the morning.

I’ve heard of Americans playing a competitive video game for about 24 hours straight, but I don’t want to participate.

In my Psychology class, a disc jockey went 2 weeks broadcasting without sleeping for a charity. 2 weeks without sleeping causes paranoia and decreased cognitive performance. A boy acording to the Psychology class went about the same time in an arcade without sleeping to try to get into The Guinness Book. It was reported that his reflex time was just as fast and the Psychologist or news reporter couldn’t beat him at games.

Actress Tempest Bledsoe from The Cosby Show went on to the short-lived "Tempest" talk show. One episode was about video game addiction. One husband said that if a Playstation were a woman, then he’d marry her today. I think that he was the same man that said that he’d rather play a video game than have sex. I’ve heard of men like that.

I once saw a video about 4 years ago with English captions. A Japanese man that looks like he’s about 22 had married a thin, pretty, Asian, video game character. At the wedding they showed scenes of the man and Nene at different stages in the relationship game. For some reason, I thought it was from a Nintendo DS game. I also saw a video on the internet of a South Korean boy that looks like he’s about 16. He’s married a pillow that’s about 4-foot-long with a female, Asian, anime character on it. Maybe she’s a video game character, but I don’t know.

Games of more than 200 GB of add-ons

Unreal Anthology includes Unreal, Unreal: Return To Na Pali expansion pack, Unreal Tournament – Game of The Year Edition, Unreal II: The Awakening, and Unreal Tournament 2004 with Editor’s Choice and Mega Bonus Pack. It does not include Unreal Tournament 2003, and Unreal Tournament III. You can get Unreal files at fileplanet.com, fileshack.com, download.com, planetunreal.com, unrealengine.com, and possibly ut-files.com. Some of the files at Unreal Development Kit require no software purchase because they are demos. Ut-files.com is down for some reason today, but it has over 200 gigabytes of files.

Doomwadstation.com has over half a terabyte of files.

I saw a Youtube video from 2009 or 2010 of an X-Box 360 game with an all terrain vehicle. This video game world is hundreds of gigabytes.

World of Warcraft has hundreds of gigabytes of files.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has hundreds of gigabytes of files. So does The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

    Misc

Taylor plays video game music on the violin and piano professionally. But you’ll probably think that she’s too normal, lovely, and lady-like for this crazy "Video Games Gone Crazy" list.

Chris Houlihan won a Nintendo Power contest and had his/her name featured in a secret room in The Super NES’ The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past.

Video Game cosplay (costume play) is a big deal at Comic Con and other conventions. Attractive women dress as Chun-Li from Street Fighter II or other characters.

In Leon Gets Medieval, Leon is comedian impersonating a pimp who time travels to fight the undead somewhat like The movie, "Army of Darkness." He fights green zombies, a black knight boss, muscular wolfmen, vampire gigolos, and a vampire hooker boss.

Space Invaders was originally going to be named something else and instead have soldiers. That is why they are in rows. People weren’t as comfortable with the soldiers or it wasn’t as politically correct. As less space invaders remain on the screen, they go faster, and the game players liked it while not realizing that it’s caused by the glitch of The Atari 2600’s low processer power.

There are ways to make home brewed console game mods like in this video for The Atari 2600.

I need to talk about actual reality instead of virtual reality in my next messages. Let’s interface with an instant messaging input-output system called speech. The process goes back and forth much like email.

I can’t think if I’m forgetting something. Please post if you know of any other video games gone crazy!

Did you read the beginning? I had already typed that it's data that I collected over the years. I decided that I should put them online when I saw on TV this month the immersive projector that Microsoft is working on that's like the Kinect. Also this month, I was anticipating a way to celebrate 20,000 posts.

I could have done a religiongonecrazy.com themed post in the religion thread: http://web.archive.org/web/20120707035147/http://www.religiongonecrazy.com/ . But that web site has been down since about October and I became less interested in it. So I decided to do a little bit more appropriate "Video Games Gone Crazy" post in honor of the 20,000th post.

I thought that this is appropriate for the Video Games Gone Crazy thread.  Gamester81 (John) has one of the best retro game Youtube channels.  This is almost like an infomercial, but you can get a 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 prototype cartridge for The ColecoVision with your name on the screen or a greeting for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBn9px04exI

Post by stathmk Fri Apr 18, 2014 12:59 pm

I just realized that over the months I had forgotten to post the news video where they are discussing the Sesame Street Fighter crossover: http://portal.tds.net/tv/3/player/vendor/Zazoom%2C%20LLC/player/fiveminute/asset/zazoom_llc-sesame_street_fighter_is_the_video_game-gnrc/source/auto  It's a real Adobe Flash or Shockwave game and free.  I oughta kick some scrawny, underweight, blue butt before they kick my scrawny, underweight, white butt!

    Sesame Street Fighter
The Boos Meet Pac-Man game on the same home page reminds me of the Wolfenstein 3D Pac-Man level.

I don't know.  But I've saved all of my private messages from everybody and when he deleted his account it seems as though 7 messages from him were deleted automatically.
