Liso1 and Mek have released their first add-on. It's called 'Cover Of Darkness' and the 60 levels are mostly extensive and with a wide range of design types. Some of the new walls come from ROTT and most of the new actors', apart from the mutant, come from Image World. There are minor code changes like ceiling colours and increased health and ammo. It all blends together quite well and it retains the Wolf3D atmosphere while having its own distinctive feel too. Available at http://www.belowe.com/cod1.zip .

    Pica are at http://www.wolfenstein3d.co.uk/cod_pics1.htm .

Well, I've played quite a few levels in the last days and I have to say it's quite fun.

On the weaker side I have to say you can really see the makers don't have much wolf3d mapping experience. For example some walls are trasparent/passable - ones that shouldn't be. Only in one level I've found at least 2 of those bugs...the problem is that enemies go through those walls as well Smile
Some textures are misused, and some of the graphics doesn't blend well with the rest, especially the treasures.
Also one of the death sounds is chopped to the way it's just VERY annoying to the ear. If I won't continue to play the addon it'll be probably because of that.

But for the first addon - it's quite impressive.

Hmmm...sounds like this was made by a newbie? Well, when i started out on making my first map, it was ok, not great, but ok. I never ran into transparent wall problem by accident...the ones i have are purposfully made. Anyways, maybe a covert of darkness fixed version? (with fixed bugs, etc)

I have gone over the set again and removed a number of minor bugs reported earlier. Also, a major bug where the game crashes on episode 5 secret level. I also changed a number of out of place looking walls and added an English version of the text file just sent to me by Liso1. The new version replaces the old zip and is still at http://www.belowe.com/cod1.zip .

I have made some more minor updates to the maps. There's a few more holowalls removed and some excess ammo removed, especially from some later levels on episodes 2 and 5.

    Same zip filename as before:

Still getting a white-noise sound when the blue SS's (and occasionaly others) die.
Other than that, it looks very intriguing.

Yes, that annoying "chopped" sound that I have mentioned earlier this thread. Too annoying to keep playing the mod.

I've fixed the SS white noise problem. After checking through the vswap, I found and fixed a couple other sounds (bosses dying) that were partially corrupted too.

The new zip replaces the older one at http://www.belowe.com/cod1.zip . Smile
