    restart? Empty restart?

Post by SandieK Sat Oct 27, 2007 9:56 am

Recently after I finished a round of End of Destiny, my computer decided to restart after I quit the program. It did it a couple times before, but I dont remember if its the mod or the game. Any idea's why?

Unrelated, but Ive been playing with sound settings, but the only sound I get is ingame sounds such as gunshots, shouts, doors, etc. No music.

well in that case download a program called VDMsound and install it. then every time you run a wolf3d mod right click and select run with VDMsound and you will have full sound and music and no lag at all.

Sweet. Worked quite well...except you cant choose a 'Run with VMD' in shortcut mode. Maybe you can, Ill fiddle later. Defeats the purpose of my 'shove everything on the External and run through shortcuts' thing. heh.

Oh. Hey. It made itself a shorty in the file. Wee!

Well, Sandie, I asked the same question. How about with shortcuts? Well, a guy in DHW forum named Dugtrio answered my question. he said:
"Make a batch file. For example, open up Notepad, put "spear.exe -noss" in it (without the quotes), then save it as run.bat (change the file type to all files; it doesn't have to be run.bat, either, it could be eod.bat, but I always use run.bat). Run the batch file with VDMS and you're ready to rock."
Well, actually if the name of the wolf3d you are playing is not named "spear", but named something else, replace the 'spear' with your wolf3d application name. THe "-noss" is the cheat for EOD. (You can't apply the EOD cheats and use them without a shortcut of EOD itself.)

It doesnt do it all the time, just every 3 or 4 plays or so, and especially if I play for awhile.

    Acer Laptop with WinXP
    AMD Sempron 3100+
