It is not like I dislike wolf3d (of course i do not)
but why do you play it>? It is reletivly older (like movies; unless it is the best, it is looong forgotten. yes, wolf3d was the best..but still.)
For me, it is because I like edititng it. there is much more potential for it...

After all this time, I still haven't found a game that beats Wolf3D for the atmosphere it creates.

It is easy to edit and there's so much that can be edited, especially since id software released the source code.

Perhaps it was surprising that Wolf3D retained its popularity once Windows ME and XP came out, but with the aid of VDMSound and DOSBox, Wolf3D was still able to be played with all the sounds and the music.

It will be interesting to see if it remains popular once Vista becomes widespread. Hopefully, DOSBox will improve enough to be able to play all the advanced Wolf3D mods on computers with Vista.

With my XP set up, I just run VDMSound and let it install on my computer Once installed, it's done. Then if you right click any wolf game exe you just select 'Run with VDMS'.

It should then play the music and all sounds.

It is indeed an old game. But this isn't really a problem for me.I liked this game from the first time I played it.And i'll continue liking it.I know that these days everybody whants modern games with grafics that blow you away. It's normal but I will always remain a Wolf3D and SOD fan.

I lack the manual dexterity to do well at games that use more than a mouse and space bar. I would be killed on floor 1 of every game if I had to navigate with the arrow keys.
