    *koff* *koff*

Greetings, everyone...it's been a while, too long. Glad to see that the Wolf mod community still exists, not that I've had much to do with keeping it alive lately myself. Between turning 40 (ugh, yes, 40, it's been over a decade since I started modding) and my son turning 5 and starting school, I haven't had much time for hobbies. That being said, I do have a little time here and then, and it's really bugged me that I never quite finished my last project, appropriately titled "Unfinished Business".

If you're not familiar with my mods, it's a continuation/conclusion of the "Operation: Letzterschutz" and "Operation: Mutant Strike" sagas that effectively tied most of my other mods together as well. I won't go into detail on those mods here, but here's a little bit about "Unfinished Business"...

Years after BJ retired from active duty, the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) contacted him to let him know one of his fellow OSS agents, Jill Hunter, had gone missing while investigating the appearance of a strange virus called the "Chupacabra Virus", recently causing havoc in South America. Reports indicate that humans exposed to this rare canine transmitted disease exhibit increased hostility, strength, and obedience to those with the ability to control the virus..."

    Unfinished Business - literally! MSUB1019_zps6c01faec

Basically, I've got everything for the project completed - new enemy designs, walls, sprites, sound, music...I just keep getting hung up on the mapping. And here's the kicker...there are only supposed to be FOUR maps...that's it. I found this worked perfectly for my "Hundenberg" mod, keeping it short and sweet, it still told the story I wanted to tell. I actually only need help with three of the maps, I've done the first myself, but I am completely and totally without inspiration for these maps, and have been for years. Thus, I'm putting forth on final plea for anyone who might be interested in helping with one or more of the three maps. I'm looking for large, quality maps that simulate specific environments (underground mines, a monastery, and a secret lab). MSG or post here with questions, I'd be glad to answer and appreciate any help! Very Happy

Hey Matt, good to have you back again! Smile Mapping for O:MS 3 was a lot of fun, so I would love to help out. Only problem is that I'm relatively busy with school, but I might have some moments inbetween the busy parts (and it's only 3 levels).

No problem, good to hear from you, Ron. I'll let you know what I need as I sort through some of my messages, you certainly did some top notch work on that mod, not to mention some others I've seen lately. Smile

Well, the mod is finished now. Any idea where or how I get this hosted now? Used to just send everything to the Dome back in the day...

moddb?  Aren't most of your projects up there?  Or do you need actual server space?  The moddb came to mind as it is a centralized placed for all things Monkee.

I did have a few projects on there but I think it comes to only about half. If I remember correctly thigh, setting up a new project lb there was a bit of a pain, as they required a project website and some other stuff.

I think the project website problem can be solved by just typing in the url that ModDb creates for the mod page. In general, it shouldn't be that hard; I have several mod pages there, and I am too lazy to create anything if it gives too many problems. Razz So it shouldn't be too hard.

I suppose I could do a moddb page, after all the work we've done in the mod the last three days, doing anything related to it sounds like a chore...oh well though.

Okay, and here's the official link now...

    http://www.moddb.com/mods/mutant-strike-unfinished-business/downloads/mutant-strike-unfinished-business-v2

[EDIT] Make sure to download the version that specifies it has the minor map updates. I somehow managed to release the first version of the mod without the newest, newest map updates. The first version is still playable/winnable, just the newer one looks a little better. Boy, is my face red!

I didn't know if I south's mention this or not, but this mod was designed intentionally more difficult than some of my previous offerings. I had a very talented mapper working on this project, and we toned down the difficulty a few times even, I'm curious to know if folks are still able to finish it.

Difficulty was ok, it took me like 90 minutes to beat the game (altough I skipped the secret level, since I don't like pacman-style levels in wolfenstein). But I have to say that I don't enjoy this style of mapping (big open areas) as much as I'm enjoying in team raycast modes...

And btw - who created those german names? Fett Schwanz and Schweinhund Very Happy

All the names and story for my mods are my doing although the concept of Fett Schwanz came from a mod my brother dreamt up but I designed, Operation: Hundscheisse. I personally feel uncomfortable in open area mods because enemies can come from anywhere, but that's the atmosphere Letzterschutz and UB were meant to capture, I've done plenty of cramped quarters mods too.
