    Hi. I'm Wolf3d newbie.

I've been played lots of wolf3d mods.

    And it is never jaded.

    Number 1

((SHS. Super Haven Mapset Hardcore version))

    needless to say, Kidding? HAHA

first stage, 3 zombies behind you, only PISTOL!!

    Dog rush, holy zombies,...NO JOKE.

Last stage before changing spearland is far worse.

7 active BOSS...I save and load about hundred times...

But it is very challenging and extreme fun. I like hardcore.

    Thx to DarkWizzie!

    Number 2. Golden Episode.

Well...I've seen lots of mods but, this mod?

No ammo, No medikit. Secret area?...Just find it yourself Smile

You have to be a Knife Master If you wanna beat it in Very Hard difficulties.

I feel My thinking is changed. Just like Mutanized by Dr.Schabbs...

When I saw SS or Soldiers alone, I say hooray! 4 ammo! My knife is hunger!....

But Level 5 Zombieland. Very, very hard to beat.

Cant use knife skills at all. To fight Zombies You have to use machine gun or chain gun.

Lack of ammo plus Health issue either.

But Thx to this mod... My knife skill is very progressed. Thanks to making this mod.

    LOL.
You're welcome for SHS. I don't understand why so many people complained about the difficulty level of the game, because there are easier difficulty options. In terms of gameplay enjoyment though, that's another issue. By putting ambushes near or at the start of a level, I am able to create challenging situations without having to put 100000 mutants. The design was to quickly kill the dog in front and run for cover, in the area ahead and to the left of the player, save, and take out the mutants. Doing a 180 from the starting position to try to take out the mutants is an obvious death sentence.

    This Spear is much easier.

I would say the two hardest I've played are SHS, and then The Lost Relic. Although, TLR really wasn't as hard as I originally remembered it to be. There were maybe 2-3 spots in that mod where I really had to be inventive. Final level is a prime example of that at the start of the level. However, lack of ammo is an issue.

TLR is probably one of the few modes I never finished although I enjoyed it quite a lot. I stopped playing after I got stuck at one place when you have to fight multiple bosses without any place for cover (I think it was lvl 14 or 15). But I admit I play only at hardest settings and my aim is to get 100% items in each floor.

The lack of cover in that one instance though, led to very unusual fighting. (If I am recalling what you are. I think it's right after a teleport, you are stuck in a room of like 5 bosses?) Also the final level, I've never been forced to play the way that I did at the start of that level. It was truly unique.

Any mod can be beaten, it's just a matter of how much time and how many reloads you are willing to give up/use.

I think I know what room you are talking about. You are probably talking about the robotic Schabbs room, right? The trick there is to not move too much, as there are monsters behind the walls. If you move crazily, you will alert them all. I remember finishing that part in Death Incarnate, so I know it is possible. I also remember I used to throw a lot of fireballs with the flamethrower to kill the incoming mutants. The trick really is to be as stationary as possible.

I'm glad you enjoyed (the part you played, that is) it, though Cool

Good to hear it was unique. The funny part is that the golem you have to kill with the knife's shooting times are so specific that sometimes you can't stop it from firing at you. That was mostly an accident, but a nice one.
And I agree with you, by being able to save at any time, you can always beat a mod.

It's like wizzie said - you step into teleport and than you find yourself in a room full of bosses and other guys. I guess I can give it a couple more tries while using the strategy you mentioned Wink

If you want a real challenge, try original Wolf3d, E6L9 starting pistol and 8 rounds without using the secret near the entrance.  Very Happy

Or, if you're sadistic, try SHS!

Cool, good to know. As for the elevator, no, you can't use it, you must kill the undead in that level in order to finish it. It was meant to be the elevator B.J. uses to escape that floor (as the level finishes automatically after you killed most of the undeads). Thinking of it now, yeah, that elevator is at least ambiguous. Back then it seemed like a good idea. Well, living and learning...

I don't think I'm going to do pistol start with 8 bullets in E6L9 Very Happy I might try SHS after I finish TLR (if I find a download link), the upper levels kinda take a while to complete if you are going for 100% items  Mad
