    I thought I'd to an old one, with no changes besides minor VSWAP (okay, the SDL exe also does episode names, but there's still no fundamental changes to the classic gameplay whatsoever), but one that definitely is known to be classic!

    My thoughts: Excellent. Still one of the best (if not the best) raw mapsets ever made (raw mapsets being those that fully adhere to the original storyline and style). Sure BJ probably topped himself with Totengraeber but that's a conversion so we're talking different there. In fact I'd argue the mapping itself is just as good.

    Excellent. Memorable maps that compliment the original maps, spicing the whole thing up with refreshed sounds, tiny graphic changes and the odd ceiling color here and there. There's too much gray ceiling in original Wolf, this is more like it.

    I voted excellent. I feel the maps in CITF were probably slightly better than in Totengraeber. Maybe the reason Totengraeber stood out more was because of its overall effects from the source code changes. (Changed ceiling colours, seamless levels etc).

    @Schabbs yes that is exactly the reason for me too. Honestly I think the mapping in CitF is at worst on par with its Totengraeber. That's not to say there isn't plenty of good mapping though.

    Yes I've seen that before but thanks for pointing it out anyways. Smile I do think BJ pans himself a little bit TOO much there however (what are your thoughts)?

    I'd say CitF slightly > Totengraeber way > The Renovation, in terms of mapping alone.

    I think mapping wise CITF just has the edge, but both sets I would class as excellent.

    Sorry man, I forgot. Bear in mind, it's hardly all of us who have the time to play each and every mod out there and know it 100 % by hand. I for one have not played Conflict in the Fatherland for several years, haven't looked it up, I just played some of the maps in there sporadically and had fun with it. The levels took on a life of their own, maybe that distracted me from the sad fact that most ceiling colors in original Wolfenstein are gray and dull.

    No big deal Thomas, was just pointing it out. Most walls don't bother me with grey ceilings. There are some (though a relatively low number of) combinations of wall color against ceiling color that I find somewhat ugly, but even then I don't let it detract from my enjoyment.

    But this particular mix up is probably between CitF and Desperate Measures. BJ abandoned all the big coding stuff he did with Totengraeber when making DM (which is of course still in progress). So there are no high end code changes like Totengraeber. However, ceilings ARE changed in both episodes (so far) of DM.
