    Migraines Empty Migraines

    Post by Dark_wizzie Thu Oct 25, 2012 4:50 pm

Do you get Migraines? Random question, because I have one now. Last night, 7pm, I got visual disturbance (called an aura), and I knew one was coming. By 8, the right side of my head starting hurting. There's the characteristic weird feeling of a migraine. There's a certain grogginess associated, like you have sleep inertia, but lasting way long. The whole headache is hitting the 22nd hour mark, because it is almost 5pm now. Some on and off nausea, thank god I don't have major light sensitivity. I still do have some, along with hearing sensitivity, but it's not too bad to avoid studying.

I read that females have a much higher chance of one one we move away from the wee ages, so I guess I'm the unlucky 6-8% according to their chart.

Awesome condition for the test tomorrow!

Migraines run in the family - it seems - don't know if that's just a coincidence.

I don't recall my family ever complaining about migraines though.

Not too sure about the severity of migraines as I luckily have no symptoms of it.

I don't agree with this one. I am the only one in the family who ever had something like this. That's why no one ever believed me when I was saying I have headache so often.
Actualy.. right now I am having headache.

If it was just headache it wouldn't be so often. Migraines are sort of chronical headaches and i used a more general description for it what already shows that you don't know about it. Migraine attack i get roughly once a week, weak headaches which i can easily control way more often that's why i used that word. Doctors don't know exact reason on headaches/migraines that's why there is no real cure for it, just some drugs which can weaken symptoms, some body excercise, so you can't say it's family if reason is unknown. All that you would probably know is if anyone from your family would visit doctor. My family also get synchronized headaches like due to weather changes but it's something most people have so yeah, might be coincidence. Besides most people whine about weak headaches calling them migraines cause of lack of knowledge.
You would be suprised how many "headaches" there are, from back of head, front, from sinuses, presure feel, behind eyes, cluster headaches/migraines and i have luck to experience all of them. Especially strong cluster like headaches for 24h or more. My personal record is 2 weeks coninous pain so far \o/

I suffered migraines a lot as a teenager. Over the years they have become less and less frequent. And on the very rare occasion I get them nowadays, they are much milder, and I almost never get the nausea. The nausea was actually the worst part, but once I heaved, the pain was much more bearable.

I HATE vomiting! Evil or Very Mad

I've never vomited from a migraine, and I never felt like I was getting very close to it. THe visual disturbance annoys me a lot, especially when I'm driving. It's like having multiple blind spots. Lack of concentration, too. Scientists still don't know a lot about the migraine. Sad
