Blah-blah-blah, I DON'T CARE. Pussy Riot, Femen etc. is pretty extreme and extremely provocative, I can see that. But everything over there is soooo old-fashioned and people are eventually gonna go nuts. I'll look forward to October 2017... Why not mark the 'special occasion' with some real ***-kicking for once, eh?

I do not see anything good in all revolutions. They are especially dangerous in today's world.
For example what good has brought a revolution in Egypt or Libya?

Akuul - their protest was that Pravoslavic Church told everyone who believe in their God to vote for Putin. So Church started the provocation first, being Putin's agent. Religion and politics shouldn't mix, God doesn't have a voting preference. So Church crossed the line first - and that was a reaction. Not against the Church as a Church - but as a generic expression of people's anger for Pravoslavic Church mixing with politics more and more...and way too much.
Religion, whose every words are so respectful/obedient by believers as "God's word" - cannot use that power to interfere with politics or to cause them to "vote for those in Power".

Yes, it's the same in Israel....only Church is much more powerful in Russia.

The fact that not only the Orthodox Church supported Putin. On the eve of the election of Putin came representatives of Buddhism, Muslims. All were in favor of his candidacy .. Therefore, an attack on the Orthodox Church can be explained differently .. To quote the words of a journalist ..
    .
Vladimir Solovyov .. the real reasons for the attacks on the Church
    .
".. I'll tell you something that no one has ever spoken. Forgive me for it, citizens. Has 5 minutes to think: why everyone is talking only about the Russian Orthodox Church, why have concentrated in their attacks on His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, concentrated in the attacks on Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, how did it all, why no one attacks us, the Jews, why there is no public collision with fellow Muslims? After muftis and rabbis and supported Putin. At the same meeting, where Patriarch Kirill expressed his attitude to the elections, the same consolidated position expressed by the representatives of all the other monotheistic religions. But no published articles exposing the lifestyle Berel Lazar and Shayevich, nobody publishes revelatory articles about Clutch: what they watch on what they drive, what business schemes revolve? What dividends from these business schemes in the form of donations to get religious structures not related to Orthodoxy, why so intelligent silent? So would try and Adagamov Rynska, tried to Gelman and Gozman say anything about Jews and about Muslims.'s even to try something ... And then it turned out that the international influence as a Jewish and Muslim organizations is so great that money from abroad ceased to go, politely and quietly political contacts disappeared somewhere, because try to go against the system running great mutual Jewish community, I know firsthand what I say, and rightly so ... But what is it any different position with respect to the temporal power of Islam, Orthodox Christians and Jews in Russia No, all support No one is in opposition. Why nobody talks about it?'s the thing. because it turned out that the Russian Orthodox Church is the most defenseless structure that does not have a powerful lobbying network abroad ... " (c)

    .
In this attack is not necessarily directed from outside. May be the wave of criticism and blackmail go inside. Ie a group of people "within the church" may not like the new patriarch. Indeed, during the Yeltsin Orthodox Church well as a friend of the power .. but then no one will notice .. So that probably is not an attack on the church and on one particular human

I wanted to say one more thing - we all happen are tolerant when some event or events occur in the lives of others. Let us, for example, try to imagine that a group of street artists depicted by a few cars on the streets and among the machines our property. What will be our response? What will we say if in the course of any performens hurt our families, for example, a mother or a wife? Here's an example how did the famous singer ..

Excerpt from an interview with Anatoly Wasserman
    .
    - Anatoly, how do you assess the case Pussy Riot?
    - I'm afraid that pretty disappointed "progressive community", but that's Pussy Riot I regard as a deserved punishment for hooliganism. They should be given a longer period than required by the state prosecutor. Remind participants Pussy Riot, and many of their accomplices, who, unfortunately, could not catch yet participated in a great number of hooligan actions. In St. Petersburg, burned several police cars. Their accomplices should also put in jail, and not hand over to them the state award for obscene picture on a Petersburg bridge. I regret that I have not done in time, and they made a few more serious crimes. As for the political and religious background, it is built into the movie Pussy Riot after the fact. Directly in the Christ the Savior Cathedral girls did not do anything political, but only swore obscenely. To sum up: the period is too small, detained them too late.
    - Would you, as an atheist, do not feel the attack on the church community? That it constantly interferes in politics?
    - Any church society imposes own ideas - it's her professional duty. If you truly believe, that your lifestyle is correct and considerate of others, you will definitely try to get respect from others of your way of life, because they will be better. Combat this is the only way - to think independently on the advice of those who promote their lives and thoughts, including advice on all churches. Use common sense, his own experiences and those of society. Require that people do not call others to no one living, useless for any person and the institution of such calls are natural" (с)

Attitude to religion, formulated the Wasserman: "I am an atheist, and atheists are not out of habit, but out of conviction." Wasserman argues that the non-existence of God quite strongly and clearly appears as a consequence of Godel's incompleteness theorem.

Orgies in churches don't happen. If police cars get flipped over, those responsible will of course be put to the test. But I guess the reason it does not happen often is, unlike Russia, we haven't held our population by the balls since Kievan f*cking Rus. Your people is now shaped after hundreds and hundreds of years of repression, and can only now start to let it out slowly. The world goes crazier. Had the Russians rebelled against the commie bastards back in 1928 or 1932, when it was still fairly young, and while Stalin still was only near-total asshole and not total-asshole/psychopatic despot, you guys would've had 70-80 years to form yourself. But it's not possible. Russia is way too large and unorganized and, somehow, it seems it's always been that way. It's too late now.

You summed it up well with, "Religion and politics shouldn't mix, God doesn't have a voting preference.

There are 2 American televangelist preachers whom I want nothing to do with who seem to act like God or Jesus would vote Democrat. There are also 2 American televangelist preachers whom I want nothing to do with who seem to act like God or Jesus would vote Republican. Somebody needs to say to these televangelists, "You don't understand. Jesus has no interest in supporting you whatsoever especially because of your holier-than-thou hypocrisy." Some say that Jesus was white, black, or Arab and have an opinion about whether Jesus would prefer whites, blacks, or Arabs. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus is or isn't white, black, or Arab. Some say that Jesus would support Palestine and some say that he would support Israel or America. Some say that American Christians are pacifists and quote, "Turn the other cheek" and "Love thy enemy." Some say that American Christians should support war and quote, "Seek out and destroy evil wherever it may be." Some say that God or Jesus is against abortion while others say that God or Jesus forgives women who've had abortions. Some quote, "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" and say that God or Jesus supports the death penalty for murderers while others say that God or Jesus forgives murderers. Some say that Jesus or God is against gay and lesbian marriage while others say that Jesus would reach out to AIDS infected gays like he reached out to the lepers. Some say that God or Jesus loves up while others say he wants us to burn or rot in Hell. I think that in Joan of Arc's time France was Catholic, and some would say that God supports England while others would say that God supports France. Some Christians say that Esa (in Syria?) in the Quran was Jesus and Maryam was Mary while others say these 2 Quran characters are completely different people. I study different Christian groups and some Indian gurus in the 1800s made a claim that Jesus known as Issa or Esa was in India from age 12 to 30. Some say that Jesus didn't die on the cross because he didn't die. Some say that Jesus was crucified in Jerusalem. Some say that Jesus was crucified in Egypt in Revelation. Some say that Jesus was crucified in Rome in his 60s by Nero Caesar. I am not making this up. My point is that 1000 Christians can interpret Christianity or The Bible 1000 different ways. It's confusing enough so let's have politics and religion be separate. Make the American churches pay income tax like everybody else in America.

I think that this quote sums it up well:
I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires. -- Susan B Anthony.

    Thomas

Much more complicated. The Revolution of 1917 is the result of many factors. Weakness and indecision of the tsarist government, funding from abroad (Germany in particular). Aides were among the Russian industrialists, merchants. For example Savva Morozov - Russian businessman and philanthropist. He financed the publication of the Social-Democratic newspaper "Iskra", his funds established the first legal Bolshevik newspaper "New Life" and "The Struggle." Morozov smuggling on his (!) Factory forbidden literature and printing types, in 1905, was hiding from the police one of the leaders of the Bolshevik Bauman. Friends with Maxim Gorky, was familiar with LB Krasin. Role played by the first world war. It is no accident, an American diplomat George Kennan called the First World War, "germ" catastrophe XX century. Of course the revolutionary explosion was caused by the remnants of feudalism and deep, fetter the development of the country, the most important of which was the monarchy and landlordism. To sum up then - the chaos in the minds led to chaos in the real world.
About uprisings - suggest to get acquainted with the history of the Civil War and the period of the first years of Soviet power. Left SR revolt (1918), the execution of the orders of anarchists Black Guard (1918), the revolt of the Czechoslovak Corps (1918), the movement of factory authorized (1918), Kronstadt Rebellion (1921), etc. Separately, can learn about the history of Nestor Makhno. Ukrainian anarchist communist, Cossack origin, in 1918-1921 the leader of peasant insurgency in the south of Ukraine, the commander of the Revolutionary Insurgent Army of Ukraine. Here is one of his slogans "If comrades Bolsheviks go to Ukraine to help us in a hard struggle against counter-revolution, we have to tell them," Welcome, dear friends. "If they come here in order to monopolize the Ukraine, we say to them:" Keep your hands off »" What's over? Detachments Makhno fought with troops Petliura, Denikin and Wrangel. That Makhno troops were a major force in the battles in the Crimea (taking the fortifications at Perekop). When Makhno became unnecessary to have declared "illegal." What dream Makhno? His idea was a peasant republic. Makhno program for the elimination of the dictatorship of the proletariat and the leading role of the Communist Party and the development of self-government on the basis of non-party "free councils 'organization' third social revolution" to overthrow the Bolsheviks, and the establishment of people's power, the elimination of exploitation of the peasantry, defend the village from starvation and War Communism, establishing property of the peasant masses to the ground
    .
Why am I telling you this? Probably because any revolutionary upheaval can lead to large errors. Here's an example that I wrote one reporter ... "PussyRiot real crime is that the action in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior .. sparked imitators .. Imitators occur at a time when the information environment is warmed so that any action, it does not matter what causes a resonance in the context of the general theme. Copycats as remora flies, fly sh*t on the media in the hope of also become relevant, to get in media headlines, surprise or delight the media space, well, or to collect a lot of comments on the worst ... The liberal media, to support this process, hardly even aware that the backs anti-clerical art projects are already direct action of quite another order. Media are arranged so that the degree must always grow, and imitators have to commit crimes increasing severity. launched and legalized by a strong information and catalyst for change "girls b**ch" comes denial Holocaust, the legalization of pedophilia, swastikas on synagogues, drawings of the Prophet Muhammad and all that was once considered not prohibited by law, and some common set of values. PussyRiot hacked thread Pandora's box was opened, and that will come out of it, we will know very soon .. "

Some quote, "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth"
Though it's indeed a quote from the Bible, God strangely copied the "Code of Hammurabi" (that was even more extended and included bone for bone and child for child)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_of_Hammurabi

I wonder why the "jews" had to wonder for 40 years at the desert just to get a slimmed version of Hammurabi laws which pre-date claimed Mount Sinai "showdown" by much:

dating back to about 1772 BC. It is one of the oldest deciphered writings of significant length in the world.
