    Some Screenshots Empty Some Screenshots

    Post by Dr.Zin Tue Nov 02, 2010 2:11 pm

This is my primary project that I've been working on (Blackwolf is a side project). It uses GZDoom and has been in development for some 4 months now. A release date, of course, will not be given Wink. These are screenshots from various portions of the first level. The overall goal of the game is to provide the eerie and scary feeling of Doom 3 in the GZDoom environment. Needless to say it has flexed every one of my mapping and scripting muscles. The level is still very much a WIP, with a lot more detail needing to be added. I've put them in spoilers due to image size.

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!

That last shot is particularly nice. Are the weapon sprites yours or are they rips from somewhere else?

Thanks to the both of you. But nei I can't sprite worth a damn. I visit Realm667 for sprites, but I always end up re scripting everything I get. I usually make textures and such and the HUD is also mine.

I thought I recognised it. Tormentor causes a fair bit of contention in the Doom world (through no fault of his own) but I actually think he's done a lot to perpetuate the scene. I do like the HUD as well. It's a little different from the run of the mill variations out there.

Have you seen the Doom 3 Super Mod by Doomeroo21 and (now) DBThanatos? I'm play-testing what will be the second release just now. It's shaping up really nicely... Smile

His mapping is very unorthodox and a lot of people feel that he seriously sacrifices game-play for detail. I suppose it depends on the mod for me. Some of his smaller projects like Austerity and Sapphire have stunning visual worlds but are basically very linear and monotonous. I am trying to get both gameplay and detail into mine, although it will take quite some time.

And Ja, I've seen the Super Mod, it looks like it might be really good.
