Anybody have any idea how much more progress Thomas has made in his new Wolf Overkill TC? Has he totally abandoned it?

WolferCooker, you have to understand that when someone has a clear vision of what he wants in a mod, and another person keeps suggesting things for the mod, it could be a bit irritating. I know you didn't mean any harm with it, but firing off suggestion after suggestion could lead to a bit of annoyance. At a certain time you have to stop adding features (Familiar? tongue), so I can understand Thomas' reaction.

I think you should add a JUMPING feature!!!!!

I joke I joke! Very Happy

Really. Everybody just needs to chill out a little bit. Sheesh. I'm sure the mod will be fun when it comes out. No matter how many features it has in it. And Thomas, no need to get so upset. You just have someone who really wants to play your mod. Take it as a compliment. Wink

I for one am looking forward to playing this thing. I wonder how long it will take me to complete???

@Thomas - There's no rush, it's your mod, add what you like and release it when you want, not that you need me to tell you this!

Fans of your work, like myself, will play this no matter what! I'm really looking forward to it. We've worked on quite a few mods together so if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.

You can always email or grab me on MSN like we used to. Smile

85 maps done. What's left? One boss level, three lead-ups to the final level and the final one. Oh, and ten bonus maps. Unlike the "plain" floors, I've got a full idea and concept behind these, and therefore, they might not take as long to create.

Among other things, I recoloured the cages to a more suiting grey. In the final release, the status bar will not look like this - I don't know what it will look like. All 100 floors will have different music, with MIDI-support. All guards will have new voices, supplied by a well-known artist we all know - if things work out as they should.

After I've put a lid on the mapping part, Havoc can deepen himself in the coding process - and on my part, I don't mind him taking all the time he needs. This is a very important project for me, mainly because I have and am enjoyed/enjoying making it, not to mention playing through. It's nothing like the usual maps I used to do.

I'm not sure. I don't know how all those "funpacks" or Acord Games-things work, if the maps there are seamless. But no, all I know is that ATAW had 71 maps, and "Orb of Dilaaria" probably has more than 60 - I don't know myself, I never played it. Very Happy

ETA is estimated time or arrival, aka, I was asking, "When is the mod coming out?" It had nothing to do with cheats.

It is not coming out anytime soon. If I remember correctly, Havoc is doing the coding (extra features coding) last after Thomas finishes his maps. Got a long way to go. If I have to guess, probably mid to late 2011.

2011 is gonna be a good year for some good mods to play when they are released. Bank on it.

It comes and goes. Since December 5 I haven't made any maps for this, but I started one yesterday. Maybe I'll finish it tomorrow or next week. I'm a busy man right now. Not to mention I'm not totally up for Wolf right now, and with my modding past behind me, I don't want to do another hack job. Time is all.

At a forum "DieHard Wolfers" you have told

@Thomas wrote:"..Yes, folks, I'm going to set my own records. As an ultimate one day, consider a probable 1000-map mod released. It's going to be a devil to get through, but when it's done, you'll have accomplished something - if not only proving that you've got heaps of time.."..

It is heavy to present it.. but probably it is possible.. and if that turns out it would be simply improbable..

So Overkill has been "overkilled". That's fine with me. I'd LOVE to see what you had in store with Overkill, but my new computer won't come until Wednesday. I'll email you then.

It's ashame the public won't see what you guys did. Because I would be asking if you and/or Havoc allow someone else (not me) to finish making the mod if there was enough demand to finish it.

This was a great start to a promising mod, Thomas. It's a crying shame it had to come to this. If Havoc would allow you, why not publically release the Overkill source code? You don't have to if you want to.
