    Hey whats up,

I've been messing around with Wolfenstein 3D/Spear and DooM for a long time (I remember getting Wolf3d on floppy for my old Packard Bell Wink). And I knew there was a modding community for Wolf3d, but I had never really looked into it (I have been working on a DooM project here of late), so I decided to look in and see whats going on. I have done modding for Wolf3D before, I know source, can use FloEdit (though I prefer ChaosEdit) and all those wonderful things. To me it is fun and obviously you think it is too so I thought I would drop by here Wink. At the moment I am exploring some of the Win32 ports and experimenting with using Wolf3d in GZdoom.

For starters I made a wolf3d IRC channel, for FireFox/ChatZilla users its irc://irc.psigenix.net/#wolf3d for other client users:
    /server irc.psigenix.net
    /join #wolf3d

Anyway, I really look forward to hanging around here and doing some serious Wolf3d/Spear modding in the future!

Welcome to the forum, Dr.Zin. Yo! Icon_smile

I too had my first PC copy of Wolf3D on a floppy. I bought it from Apogee.

I'll try to check out the Wolf3D IRC channel. Good luck with the modding.

It's good to hear, there's been a bit of talk but not much actual mod making and releasing going on lately.

Well it IS the summer so I suppose I could understand for quite a few people. Summer holidays and all. I myself am a working man so holidays aren't really part of my schedule lol, I pass the time by playing/modding/making games. I am working on a project right now called Blackwolf, and it will be using GZDoom (I posted something about it in the technical area). I have tonnes of experience with it, and it really saves me a lot of time in the modding area because its scriptable and its an openGL enhanced port of DooM, so I don't have to go through the motions of compiling a Wolf3d exec from source. Although I may do so in the future with my own special version of WolfSDL, right now I just feel like churning out a mod.

    Trolololol right? Rolling Eyes

Anyway, my laptop cooling pad has decided to quit on me so I will be restricted to using a freind's desktop until I can order a new one. This also means I will not be able to work on Blackwolf or be in IRC a lot (mostly at night) Sad

Cooling pad, huh. Well my computer is really a desktop so it never overheats. Or require some "cooling pad".

Its the only reason my laptop has lasted 6 years. I COULD use it without said device but it would be a bad idea as I can afford to purchase a 15 dollar accessory, but I cannot afford to replace a laptop.
