Yes, personal avatars were lost too, though not the standard forum avatars.

I don't remember having a different picture format. I first tried to reload my picture as a bitmap, and it said that this file format isn't allowed. Then I tried to reload it as a targa and it said that this file format isn't allowed. Then I tried to reload it as a gif and it worked.
